    speedart/techart aerokit is on

Installation was perfect, lines match up better than the factory bumper.
I have not yet installed the techart diffuser.
I have one question for those that have installed a fixed wing.
I changed the wiring harness so I dont get a brake light warning anymore but at 75mph I get a rear spoiler warning light.
Do i have to remove any fuses? or what is the solution?
    thanks in advance...

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

Sweeeeet! Post more pics, Raffi...good taste there, Speedart's front aero treatment looks better than the others, even if it is *borrowed* straight from Carrera GT .

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

sure damian, I wasnt able to put more than one pic in one thread let me try again...

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

    another

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

i think the whole kit that I chose especially after the techart diffuser is added will make the car look like a carrera gt wannabe...
also I think I found the answer to my question regaring the warning light, I think I need to go to the dealer for the fix.

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

Very nice front end. I love the way it looks
I presume you have PASM; Could you advice us how much is the ground clearance from the front lip to the road? Do you have any issues clearing humps?

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

yes you need to go to the dealer to get the rear spoiler to turn off. Got mine done and cost about $55.00 and only take a few minute. BTW car look nice.

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

I have PASM and techart springs, I have already scraped the front end lightly, but it was a very steep driveway, it actually is not much lower than the factory bumper, it think the more aggressive overhang just makes it more difficult to maneuver out of steep driveways.
lex, did that $55 include the wiring harness or is that just labor of using there special tools.

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

for the 997 they don't use the wiring harness. The dealer just reprogram the computer to deactivate the rear spoiler. $55 is my total charge.

Is it just me, or does that front bumper stand out a bit too much?

It doesnt seem to flow or blend into the rest of the car. If you look at the official aerokit (Yes, the one I'm getting on my car!! ) I think it flows far better.

The bottom edge seems to blend better and match the side sills of the car in the way that it should..

Exhibit A... (You rear spolier haters.. Just pretend it isnt there for a mo.! Just for me!!!)

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

    hey maddad,

I think the gt3 bumper matches perfectly to the widebody c4 but is much lower than the side sills on a C2/C2S. This compromises ground clearance without even improving the appearance. Still I always wanted the supercup style bumper with the black slats in front of hood but wasnt patient enough for porsche motorsports to release it.
Someone here posted a pic of their arctic c4s with the aerokit, the lines match up perfectly but in my opinion the red c2s above looks unbalanced with the front bumper lower than the sides. Of course you can never go wrong with factory but I just feel that you need to add some extra side skirts if you add the factory aerokit.
I also like the factory gt3 wing. it looks much better in person...

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

    lex,
    thanks for the info.
That is strange that they didnt need to change the harness.
Than what is the special harness made for?
It is a 997 part and is used for the factory aerokit...
I guess they have a solution which doesnt require them to use the extra piece but I never thought the dealer would come up with a method to save you money.

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

Same issue after I installed the factory aerokit about 2 weeks ago. Even with the new harness the warning light would come on at 75mph. Dealer charged me $135.00 instead of $55.00 to fix the problem, and the purpose of the new harness, beats me...?? I'm hoping that there is power to the cooling fan now, because when I opened the engine lid, the little light does not even turn on.

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

hey loday my light in the trunk turns on, you must have something wrong with the connection or harness...
for $135 the dealer better straighten that out.

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

While we're looking at the factory aero kit - it the lower lip a different material from the one on the new 997 GT3, or is it just that it's painted black on the GT3?

Looks better in black, to my eyes - but I don't see that as an option.

I believe the base color of the Aerokit lip is greyish in colour. Once painted, any scrape would reveal the greyish base colour if viewed from the bottom....but the damage is not obvious if you are standing beside the car.

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

You should take it back and get it fix because mine is working fine. I was told by the Porsche tech, after talking to HQ, that 997 doesn't require a wiring harness whereas a 996 does. On my invoice there was no charge for a harness. Maybe that why mine only cost $55.

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

very nice aerokit from techart i was considering this too

the rera spoiler fits on the engine lid without replacing it correct????

and does it go up and down?

    Re: speedart/techart aerokit is on

hey dilinger i replied in the other thread too,
but no it doesnt go up/down,
and you dont need to change the engine lid
