    I will second that ..

Re: First "official" 997 GT3 Picture

White w/ black wheels will look really good!!!!! Probably the 2nd best after black w/ black wheels.

Re: First "official" 997 GT3 Picture

Excellent...Now we only have to wait untill the press release of both GT3 and GT3RS will come out!

Mine, will be white with the same wheels color as you can see on my 996...I think that this combo will be the best!

Re: First "official" 997 GT3 Picture

The car looks like a winner. Thank you for the summary RC. I cannot wait for the debut!

Could you please tell me, what colour you have on your rims.

and did you have regular rims, grey ones and did a paintjob or is it something diffrent??

like that colour very much, perhaps there is a name for it?

    Re: First "official" 997 GT3 Picture(s)

man, i missed a lot this weekend. i really love the 997 GT3. looks awesome, pure, timeless. love the reduced interior with the RS-alcantara touches as well (not the sport chrono though) -- and note: no white dials!

You had to say it, you had to say it!
    Dude, you've ruined my day!

Awesome performance for the price indeed.
Gosh, even the Turbo is cheaper than my car!
No regrets though, I knew exactly what I was buying.
GT3 would have been awesome but too much for my pityful current driving abilities. Give me some time... The progression curve is super steep right now.
2nd track day yesterday (two in two weekends! ), report and pics tonigh.

    RC & Fanch ,,

Do you guys potentially see the GT3 as a real handful for a first P owner , I mean it cannot be no worse than when I was 21 years old owning bikes such as the GSXR 1100 and the GPZ900R surely . Every driver knows ( well they should ) when there pushing there vehicle near the limit , hence the initial variuos vehicular feedbacks .

I stand to be corrected , please ..

Re: First "official" 997 GT3 Picture

You should have mentioned the first 'Blade in 91. Ritual slaughter for the inexperienced...

1000 miles per back tyre etc, dodgy rear shock, tank slappers at 150 blah blah. Those were the days...

    Yes and no.
No bc at legal limits on the open road, anyone can drive a GT3. I drove a GT2 and it was fine within reason.
I'm talking driving the car, really driving, at the apex, going for a time on the track see.
Last weekend and yesterday, I lapped without PSM, and it makes a huge difference. Fantastic to learn as it tells you exactly where and when you're doing something wrong (too much lift off oversteer, gas instead of counter steer, etc.) compared to a lap with PSM sport mode.
GT3 is much more of a race car than the 997S, doesn't mean less forgiving but you need proper driving skills to exploit the car further.
The horses are very high in the rev range (same torque than a powerkit 997 but 35 hp more) so you'll always be at the apex, although that's the sweet, and fun, spot with a 911.
It'll demand great concentration if you want to drive fast on country roads too.
With 997S, even when PSM off (which I wouldn't do on open roads anyway, it always comes back on when the ABS comes on).
If you've got the skills, by all means, go fot it mate!
    It's not an age thing.
For now 381 hp is plenty for me, I do see the GT3 however as the natural progression, but that'll mean a second GT car for my vacation trips etc.
Right now, I can do everything with mine which is what I wanted.

Re: First "official" 997 GT3 Picture

Tank Slapper , jeeps you jogged my memory there and very true . And like the GPZ900R if you had the first blade you were the main due .

    Great fast and furious times..

    throt..

Re: First "official" 997 GT3 Picture

    True..

But Fanch is right I think. On a road my C2S 95% of the time is plenty. But 5% of the time I hanker after that final rush to the red line, a bit more of an iron grip on the suspension and a bit more instant response. I'll probably regret it every time I'm sitting on a concrete motorway with my fillings dropping out and a headache but for 5% I have to do it. Less is more sometimes...

Re: First "official" 997 GT3 Picture

Thanks for that Fanch and I see where your coming from when you stated about having to have proper driving skills to exploit the cars full potential . What about the ride firmness on the GT3 compared to the -20 , do you think it will be simular ? . Also good point on the usable capabilities of the C2S ..

    Thanks..

Yep a back to back demo of the 2 is mandatory , and a bloody good demo at that..

Re: First "official" 997 GT3 Picture

I take it the suspension of the GT3 is not adjustable in terms of changing caster to camber, right?

Doesn't an upshift indicator light make it pretty clear that this is a 911 for dummies?

    PCM,,PSM,,PASM,,TC,,LSD,,PCCB'S ..

But it has the gear indicator and its fit for dummies ..

    Re: First "official" 997 GT3 Picture(s)

Although it may be interesting to such communities to "get the scoop" a few days early, I hope everyone realizes that people who allow such things to happen before images/info are officially published are risking (and sometimes losing) their jobs.

    streetwise

    Re: First "official" 997 GT3 Picture(s)
