    M760Li is an absolute beast

This 600HP, 12 cylinder monster has been clocked doing 0-60 in 3.7 seconds using launch control. That beats the M4. Oh, and it weighs 2326kg (5100 lbs). Smiley

So what, the Cayenne Turbo S beats the M4 as well (from 0-60), so... Smiley Smiley

It's not a miracle to beat the M4. Even the new M550i will do so. But the numbers for the M760iL are impressive anyway.   The new Alpina B7 plays in the same range. The AMG S63/S65 now has won the 2nd place indecision

Yes, but I could drive 4 adults around in the 760 without having to move my seat forward to give the person behind me some leg room. Unlike in the Cayenne or 550. Smiley

I think, that the typical S65AMG and now M760iL buyer isn´t searching for an ultimative sports sedan. A S63AMG/Panamera buyer is more looking at this.

S65AMG and M760iL offer far more comfort and luxury the Panamera.

If I have to choose, I would go for Panamera turbo or turbo S, there is no doubt, second would be M760iL but not the Excellence version.

Of course, not. The Excellence has to much bling, bling and lacks the sport exhaust.

Looked further into the 760Li and I definitely love the engine choice, despite the fact that apparently, it doesn't really sound too good. A 6.6 l V12...wow. kiss

today I am driving the new Panamera turbo - the sound is nice - but I don´t like the brubbling when you drive in "sport" and you lift your feet from the pedal - it isn´t gentleman like more "look at me - I am here", I could say "Trump like".

I didn´t like the 4s diesel. The sound is miserable (no sport exhaust) and the hectic PDK tried to make me feel I am driving a more sportier car. I could compare it directly to BMW 750xd, the BMW has more comfort and the automatic gearbox fits better. The Panamera 4s diesel is more sporty and the interior is more my style and taste.

Re: M760Li is an absolute beast

    A full option M760iL is around 175.000 € about 10.000 € cheaper then a Panamera turbo.

If you lease both cars:48 month and 20.000 km per year. You pay for the BMW around 1.925 € per month and for the Panamera 2.680 €. That is a difference of 36.000 € for 4 years!! And you have a V12 engine vs. V8

Yes, BMW lease deals are always better.

Are the figures you posted net figures or incl. VAT? I assume no initial payment?

If BMW would make a SUV with this 6.6 l V12 engine, it would be a no brainer for me. Smiley

If I would look for a sedan, I would prfer the M760iL a million times over a Panerama Turbo.

And @Aldo - the BMW has all gizmos and gimmicks which are available while that Panamera still has lack on information technology.

Come on.... the new 7 looks amazing, rear seats, front - in the 760 it is on the Bentley level. The Panamera is boring, too - not even has some buttons (and those are even not easy to use). That's a matter of taste.

Re: M760Li is an absolute beast

Re: M760Li is an absolute beast

I find the Panamera interior to be perfect, very luxurious, modern and classy but at the same time sporty as well.

The BMW interior is really boring...like you said...more Bentley style.

For example: I love the Rolls Royce Ghost and it's exterior but the interior is even worse than the one of the 7 series. angry

I guess I'm not old enough for this sh.t yet. indecision angry

Re: M760Li is an absolute beast

I think that both interiors solve different tasks.

The BMW is more luxurious and offers better materials. The Panamera is the one which give you the more sporty feeling. Both are very nice. For a short trip in Schwarzwald the Panamera is nice. A long trip or going out for dining (also with a girlfriend Christian) the BMW suits better.

@Lars, I am wobble between them. But before deciding finally I am looking to see the Panamera sports turismo.

Stupid question: What about the next gen Cayenne Turbo S?

Or if cost is an issue: Why not getting the new Mercedes E63 AMG? Do you really need that much interior room?

The BMW is surely something special and it is definitely cheaper than a Panamera Turbo. Also, I can see how the BMW would be seen more "acceptable" by the tax office, resulting in a lower risk for deductibility (however I do not know your income, so maybe it doesn't really matter).

I am not such a big fan of SUVs - I like more classical sedans

MB E-class isn´t my thing. There are two I would like AMG S coupé or cabrio or AMG gt c

I don´t need the large interior but somehow find it very classy. I could also imagine a Bentley Mulsanne (but only if I would live alone as Robinson)

It´s not the inteiror that it´s boring, it´s the exterior, I would go for Panamera, it looks better in and out.

    It's like this:

    vs This:

Both are the same price and do the same thing but some of us are going to like the top one and some the bottom. I"ve usually been of the mind that if I want to drive a sports car I'll drive a sportscar and if I want to drive a four door sedan then I want more luxury and less sporty (though I don't want a boat and I do want enough straight line speed).

Maybe (of course I like the Hublot better...in this case)...but I still think that BMW needs to improve their interiors. Not only valid for the 7 series.

Interiors are subjective, but the new BMWs have definitely improved in terms of the materials they use in the cabin. These cars need to appeal to a wide audience so the looks won't be for everybody I guess.

True and I have to admit that I haven't sat in a 7 series for a very long time, so I don't really know the current quality level of the materials used.

Re: M760Li is an absolute beast

The materials in the 7 are comparable to Porsche. If you are going for the basic model you are getting soft touch plastic. If you pay the extra you can have the fully wrapped leather interior in comparable Nappa.

Re: M760Li is an absolute beast

An 8 month old, fully loaded 750ix with 4000km is offered in the BMW internal dealer network at EUR 90 000. Price as new: EUR 165 000. That'a good deal.

At near list price - good luck with choosing a 7-series over Panamera. And that's just the price/deprecation comparison. Once you sit behind the wheel...different planets.
