Sorry about your bad luck, just make sure they do a proper paint job. But as long as there is no metal involved, don't worry, be happy. And if the driver of that SUV was cute too...maybe you got her phone number.
Of course only if the other person in the car with you wasn't your girl friend, wife or whatever.

zack- rest of the day was great at 56F with the top down and no cloud in the sky.
RC- girl was well above average and apologetic so I wasn't hard on her...
My daughter 4, and son 5, were in the car and I made sure I dried my tears before I got out.
Wife came and got the kids in the same kind of SUV! as I waited 30 min for a cop to even arrive! 
Cops would be everywhere if I were speeding!

Ya know? This should be this easy in real life. The stuff is mere ABS plastic common stuff, paints and filler should be readily available. People polish scratched plastic by going thru the grits like plexiglass which is acrylic like our paint. There's no big reason these kinds of minor to large scratches and small dents can't be fixed (and fixed well) on a DIY basis. All you need is a collection of materials and tools in a kit.
Not like the old days with steel and fillers and very uncooperative and unforgiving types of paint.

Sorry to hear about this.
The piece will still require a respray because metallics are hard to spot touch. It can be done at home, but it takes some time. Depending on your DIY capability and willingness, it might be easier to get it done.
In any case, this is why Porsche installs these little bumpers.

So true- two of my co-workers were involved in an accident this morning in front of our work, one died, leaving behind a husband and 4 young children. 
Dense fog rolled in and shortly thereafter a truck pulled out in front of them.
I hope your beautiful car is as good as new very soon!

This is sad news, SVNSVN. Aren't you in the Bay Area? I haven't read/heard anything about the accident. Sad. How fortunate we are to be sitting at home, safe.

Didn't notice the little chip above the removable bumperettes. I think all of this can be repaired easily by any experienced body shop and the color should match well too. Is the SUV driver going to pay?

I live in Fresno ( my work is about 30 mi north). Sorry to post such sad news... I just hope the rennteam buddies are safe and consider how driving conditions can change rapidly. Take care!

It's hard to see from this angle but there is some deformation above the plate. I'll be upset if they don't replace the whole bumper.
