Ah. About that... I feel I should 'fess up: that picture is a photoshop.
The wheels & front splitter
are Manthey items, though. The magnesium wheels are specially made for Manthey by BBS Racing. They are only made in 18 inch, as Olaf Manthey believes that any larger "creates more problems than it solves". He is also a great believer in reducing unsprung weight - those wheels are just over 7kg a corner, compared to 11kg for the GT3 wheels from Porsche.
The splitter is carbon fibre. You can see all of their products on their website at
www.manthey-motors.de
There is an article on Manthey's 996 GT3 in this month's Total 911 magazine.
He's got some good chat, especially like his focus on "performance and driving qualities, not posing". Doubt you'll be seeing any 20 inch chrome spinners from Manthey...
He actually predicted Porsche would stick with 18's for the 997 GT3... could it be that they too have been seduced by fashion?
(What do the 997 Cup cars use ?)
The white 997 is for sale on the Porsche Japan website. Best colour IMNSHO.
Here's Manthey's 3.9l take on the 997 (there are lots of magazine reviews in PDF format on their website, although they are mostly in German):
