Porsche centres in the UK are now officially taking orders for the 997 turbo. To prevent any speculators ordering cars, there is quite a strict screening procedure that you have to go through. You have to fill in a form titled "Customer Qualification 911 (type 997) Turbo", which asks you to list all previous Porsche cars owned and for what period, as well as any competitors cars that you have had/still own. The form then has to be signed off by the dealer principal of the Porsche centre and then gets sent for the approval of a Porsche regional manager. Once approved, you have to pay a Pounds10k deposit by the 28th Feb to get a build slot. The first deliveries will be on the 24th June. I believe the list price of the car is Pounds96,850.

ATTENTION!!!: Don't forget to order the chrono sport package because ONLY with this package comes the overboost feature which adds a little bit more torque/juice at full throttle.

Wow I hope that is not the US list price! The Pound to US dollar conversion has that at 168,935.71 USD. That car would have to have Every option order-able to justify that price

Jesus! Screening process to buy a car!?! It's not like vetting people to adopt children you know...
Still it'll be interesting how the 997 TT will fare as the price after options will push it above a Pounds100k.

Since only a few cars will be available in the beginning, Porsche just wants to make sure they go to enthusiasts and people who are really interested DRIVING these cars, not using them as an object for speculations and making an additional buck or two.

Is this for manual or tip? I am a big Porsche nut, but things are getting silly when you have to put more down for a 997TT (which I will do) than for a F430

Hmmmmmm, I think I'm missing something here......$115,000 EUR exchanged to USD is $137,241....perhaps the prices shown on the list "DOES" include the VAT....
