C4 wheelset now mounted on my C2. Check it out!
Here's a couple of "before pics", my car on the standard Carrera III's and 18x10 265/40/18 Conti Sport Contacts.
It's also lowered -30mm with Eibach springs and has 14mm spacers. The fronts btw have 7mm spacers:
Here's it is now with a set of 18x11 Carrerra III rears off a 997C4.
Michilin Pilot 295/35/18, no spacers front or back:
What do ya all think? Like or no like?
Personally I'm really happy with the way this turned out. I got the aggressive look I was after while maintaining a 'factory' appearance. I'm going to re-spacer the fronts; I wanted to try it w/o spacers to see if it would make a bigger visual impact vs. the rears. Spacing the fronts will bring more balance IMO.
I also noted that the Michilin Pilots have a wider profile in comparison the the Conti's. The fronts are the same size on paper but in real life there's a big difference. They also give a better ride than the Conti's.
I keeping the original set of wheels. I'm going to use them for track days. After I burn off those Conti's I'll mount some street legal track rubber on them.
I figure having the wider rears/spacers will probably affect handling towards understeer, right? In any case I've wound up with a wheel set I can use on the street which looks more appealing (to me anyway), and I'll have a set of wheels that reserved for track use only.
Anyways In case anyone else was considering this solution, here it is. Plus, I'd love to know what you all think
