    Ahh - thanks Alex, I missed that bit. I wasn't sure what the 'hack' achieved exactly.

    The guy at OPC did say the PSE would be on at start-up but would drop out for dawdling in traffic, then cut in again when accelerating. That seems to suit me fine.

    Can't wait to have it done now.

    I've left mine stock and indeed, when the PSE is ON, it automatically shuts itself off at what I would call "city speeds", something between 30 and 70 km/h more or less.
    It's really no big deal though.
    For me, it is important to be able to have the PSE 100% OFF whenever I want, especially on long motorway cruises.

    Now, interestingly, when you'll have your PSE ON, you will notice is stays on between 30 and 70 whenever you're heal and toeing of even double declutching.
    It will also stay ON at those speeds if you apply very light throttle inputs, funny isn't it?

    As for spirited driving on tight mountain roads with hairpins, I did it a few weeks ago in northern Spain, the cut off is actually a lot of fun! No really! Like a big beast coming to life at each hairpin exit, it's really an ON/ OFF effect!

    Thanks for that Fanch.

    I agree it would be better to be able to turn PSE off on long motorway trips - maybe listen to a bit of Mozart instead on monotonous journeys.

    From what you say about heel & toeing or double de-clutching is it possible that PSE kicks in, or stays on, depending on revs rather than road speed??

    Only another 5 days and I'll have it.

    Can anyone offer opinions on exhaust choices for the 997S with sports chrono. I am torn between PSE and the Tubi. The sound bite from the Tubi sounds great. I am aware of a 26 lb. weight savings with the Tubi; none with the PSE. A claimed 10 hp increase with the Tubi, none with the PSE. I've been told that with PSE, my current sport button will activate the louder sport note with the PSE; obviously I will not have a sound choice with the Tubi.
    Anyway, all opinions would be greatly appreciated.

    Has anyone got a sound clip of the PSE and perhaps the Tubi. I decided not to go PSE but now I'm feeling I should have had this option. There is still time for me to add this though. I would appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction for the sound clip as I would like to let the stealer know tomorrow, and on the basis it doesn't add HP it's all about the sound...

    Bugger!! The OPC called to tell me that fitting my PSE has to be postponed due to parts being on back-order.

    Must be a shortage due to the number of guys on this board having it done .

    I was due to have a Porsche ex demo car fitted with a PSE but I have also beem told that it is on "hold" from the factory.

    I hopefully will get the car on Friday - 997 C2 cab. Pounds10k off list - good spec and decent trade for my Boxster S.

    I will then get the PSE retrofitted.
