If there isn't a substantial delay on delivery, I still plan on considering PTS.

I probably would have done the same. I'm pretty sure there is always a significant delay with PTS, unless you luckily time the window just perfectly. For instance, I think the first PTS window doesn't come until early 2018...

There was a time when tangerine, Mexico blue, and birch green were among the standard colors and metallic colors like silver carried the premium.

I will probably pull the trigger on the new GTS Convertible tomorrow, for a May delivery, to complement my 991 GT3 RS track toy...as a DD and for spirited open-top driving tours in the Alps etc.

I prefer the 997 somehow. I think it mostly has to do with missing the 4 exhausts in the new one.. I do need a lot of time to get used to those two central-ish located exhausts. The 997 GTS will age very very well.

I painted the lower valence and ceramic coated the tips matte black. I think the result is not quite up to GT3 appearances but not bad.

The Porsche sport exhaust sounds best when you first start the car. It has a nice loud growl portending very aggressive performance sound once it is driven. Unfortunately, that isn't the case. The sport exhaust sounds mousy once the car is driven. This despite having artificial sound piped into the cabin. To add injury to insult, the sound engineers programmed the car to fart when the throttle is released yet again trying to make the car sound like a performance car.

All in all, I huge disappointment to me. Smiley

I don't think the .2 PSE sounds that bad and I don't mind the pops on lifting the throttle either. Actually I thought the GT3 PSE was disappointing because below 4K rpm there really was nothing happening and I could not constantly drive the car around town above 4K. Of course above 4K the GT3 PSE was very Cup car exhilarating, but driving 70 in 30 zone is a major no no where I live.

If you want to avoid the farting, drive in sport+.

The sound of the GT3 at low rpm has a very aggressive performance sound if you drive in manual sport+. The SE on the .2 Carrera is pathetic. Weak, nerdy and phony sounding. Many of the lesser cars like Mustang and some trucks sound much better.

Was implying that it's pretty much silent. Which is actually not a bad thing. Personally I'd much rather have zero sound than meh sound though. Bring on EV exotics!

I think the GTS needs to be a permanent model in the 991 range, they just hit the nail on the head with them, they are the best all round package IMO with the most sportiness you can get without compromising daily driveness, great performance, and arguably one of the best looking 911 with its sportier look than the non-GT models but no rear wing.

There are sportier 911 models, faster models, more GT'ish models, etc for those that want more of one of those things, but the GTS is the sweet spot for those that want the best combination of it all in one package.

Well, it is also IMO the sweet spot of the range. And I decided to get one. 991.2 Carrera GTS Coupe with SPASM/PDCC, RWS, 90L tank, Black LEDs, full GTS interior alcantara/leather(no special stitching) and few interior goodies. Need to decide about exterior color and Sport Design rear spoiler.

I want 991.2 GT3 as well and most probably will get it also. I am very impressed with 720S and Performante, but for my country they are little bit too much in your face... Also, local support is missing and this narrows ethe choice as well.

As to the color, getting the Carmin red with the black wheels in mine is the best decision I ever made (thanks to those in the board who encouraged me to get it since I wasnt sure because I've never been a red or such bright color guy), it does attract a lot of attention though but its just so beautiful in the GTS that its worth it. Just my two cents personal experience Smiley
