    Order confirmation/status

    If I know my order confirmation number for my P car, is it possible to check on the status with a source other than my dealer. My dealer is being a pain, not being very helpful!

    Only the dealers have access to the computer system AFAIK. Maybe you need to speak to your salesperson directly, or his boss if he's not adequately helpful.

    I went to my dealer for an update on the delivery of my car. It is supposed to be Feb delivery. I wanted to know an approximate date. Dealer said don't know exactly. It should be in by end of Feb or early March and he doesn't know whether the car is built/shipped or not until now. It takes about 4 weeks from Stuttgart to here. Would you buy what is he saying?? Something smells fishy to me!

    The dealer will not know exactly when it will arrive as there are so many variables, including the weather, tides, shipping/trucking schedules and so on. The car might also need some attention at the arrival port.
    If you ordered a Cayman it will come from Finland, not Stuttgart.
    He should know when the car is built though. If he doesn't know it probably hasn't been built.

    My dealer told me my Cayman was scheduled to be built on January 5 but was actually built on January 6, and it is now on a ship to the USA. He said Porsche would let them know when the car is on the docks in the USA.

    Not knowing where you live, a February delivery means the car had to be built in January, meaning the dealer should have a VIN. Ask what the Checkpoint 8 date was for your car. Once the car completes production, the next status change in the system is once it's on a ship. If he can't give you a VIN yet, your car isn't built.

    Man ... it's really frustrating .... and wonder what would you say if you know that I placed my order back in August?

    Oh by the way, I saw your Cayman few weeks ago parked next to Nino's . . . man the color combo looks really good. Cocoa adds a nice touch to the exterior color. Congrats once again and more sympathy for me

    Thanks so much. I'm amazed by the cornering abilities in that car. So much poise and it feels so tossable and predictable. The steering is amazing! I'm thinking of getting my wife something else and taking it over lol Hope she doesn't mind:p

    Cant wait to experience this. On the other hand, I played smart . . . got a stick shift as usual . . . that has always kept my wife away from my car
