    BIG miles!

Mind you I'm 8 weeks away from getting mine and we're already planning Easter bombing around the country then a trip around France/ Belgium / Germany in the summer.

BTW How much can you get in the luggage compartment?

Fortunately not enough for your mother in law.

One med bag, one small bag, & some stuff from Griot's including Speed Shine... (a must)

    Re: 4 weeks to go.

Ahhh, all you happy waiters hanging out together, tossing specs back and forth in your mind. It's worth the wait if that is any consolation and the spec will be fine in the end. But I wish I got PSE now. And heated seats. And...

Throt - what are you doing hanging around in this thread?? Only kidding, get your name back on that list!

Hey everyone. I have been lurking round this board for a long time now, but have never posted. Would just like to say thanks to everyone for their knowledge of porsche. I have learnt much.I am taking delivery of my c2s on the 1st of March its been a painful wait. Will post pictures asap.

As the time got closer to my delivery date , I couldn't even sleep , always thinking about the moment I will get to drive the car, sit in it, look at it, Etc.
As in the " rocky Horror picture Show " when Tim Curry says :

    Antici................................... pation.
like a good meal or bottle of wine is a great feeling , because then you get to enjoy it and apreciate it so much more.

Have fun and enjoy it when it arrives.

    Re: 4 weeks to go.

Thanks Pabs. Your right, i know when its time to collect i will apreciate the wait i have had. But still it is agonising waiting for the damn thing!!!!!!!!

Well Gary nice to see your enjoying it because so many buyers become obcessed by the cars beauty that they end up just looking at it , some of us are guilty of that . Its funny is it not , that we dont do the same with a hot horny looking lady , I mean we have no qualms riding that .

Richard , your enthusiasm is still at boiling point and I really cant wait till your pick up day , I'm bloody excited as well . Need I tell you , but get loads of pics bud .

Nick , I am very upset by your comment , you scally wag , no really the time nears when I am back on the list and I am still hungry for one which is the main thing .

I got no excuses for having a cock up on specs have I ..

All the very best lads , talk again..

Your comment on the spec made me laugh, by now you should have it well clear in your mind. So what are you thinking, straight in with a Turbo? I seem to remember you raised a question/poll if it was worth doing this and not taking the depreciation hit on getting an S and then changing a few years later.

    Re: 4 weeks to go.

    Hi peely,

I used porsche wilmslow - Stuart the sales guy has been pretty good with me (I've been in today to sort the finance and I managed to squeeze a 997 4s track day at oulten park out of him in April. and he's given me the usual mats/fuel). He also showed me my car which had arrived last week and is in the garage being PDI'd - these cars are the monkeys nuts!..

I test drove a seal grey 997s with PSE fitted and took it on some of the dual carrageways surrounding the dealership, so you can get a good feel for the acceleration etc. You won't get a discount on the car, but I managed to push reasonably hard on the finance and am currently trying to swing some more 'freebies'.

I think JohnH on this board also uses wilmslow, so he may have a view on this?.

    Enjoy your test drives!!

    Hi Nick ,

Your correct , you have a good memory , I was debating on going straight to the turbo but I would like to drive one first to make sure its the right decision over the RW C2S , this in effect would mean myself not getting it till ?? , well maybe June , July 07 surely , we shall see cause it will be my first P .

Today on my travels I spotted a 997S and I must say I do still love the clean body and curves that the modle pocessesses . Hows yours Nick anyway are you pleased or very pleased and did you post pics ? I cant recall correctly , anyway I am sure your loving it..

    Take it easy bud..

    Re: 4 weeks to go.

    Throt,

    Thanks! Will do!

Being two of the longest waiters, we share a common bond (OK, no Brokeback Mountain jokes )! I know you'll make the very best decision at the right time! Last night I couldn't sleep for the second night in a row thinking about my "baby" and the trip to Germany. So what's it going to be like when I only have "4 weeks to go?"

    Cheers!

I'd fall into the very pleased category although for a couple of reasons I would have to say that I haven't really got to grips with her fully yet - reasons that may be worth passing on if you are debating power of Turbo vs S. I have the non S C2.

I picked it up late October so since then the we've had greasy or icy roads for most of the time and my work commute is only 5 miles or so, most on lanes where you can't really push it for lack of space/sight. I also have a young daughter who has only recently got to the correct weight to fit in the Porsche Prince car seat I have for her. Add in the fact that she doesn't travel light we end up using my wifes car if we need to go anywhere.

So I've found that even though I bought the 997 as a daily driver I often end up not being able to use it for practicality reasons or not being able to use it to anywhere near its full potential. Hopefully the latter will change with the spring weather around the corner. I'd question the Turbo for real world use. The base car is a cracking drive which I am thoroughly enjoying.

I have been lazy on the posting pics front - I know it is a cardinal sin on Rennteam not to post pics but people like MattC and others have far better photography skills.
