    4 weeks to go.

    Hey everyone. I have been lurking round this board for a long time now, but have never posted. Would just like to say thanks to everyone for their knowledge of porsche. I have learnt much.I am taking delivery of my c2s on the 1st of March its been a painful wait. Will post pictures asap.

    Hey crg. GT silver with black interior. Carrera Classic wheels. I have some pictures my dealer sent me they are not hot but will post them.

    Sorry to hear that throt!! Its a pretty safe bet gt silver/black. But cant help but think that the basalt black looks a bit more sharper and aggresive. But i really couldnt keep up with the maintenance on the paintwork!

    I'd say a very safe colour combination, especially when you sell/trade in

    You're right, black is sexier and more aggressive but GT silver suits well.

    Hi rob,

    I am a 1st march waiter as well...the next four weeks are going to be hard I think. I tried to change to basalt in early jan because of this board but was too late to change the spec....but somehow i don't think the colour will matter too much when i finally get the keys!.

    I am going into the dealers on thursday so hopefully i can finally get to see my porker in all its glory as it was delivered to dealer last week.

    i went to the dealers yesterday. I saw my car on the Porsche system. And my name next to it. But still no build date yet! Sigh! Getting a bit close this is for a March 1 delivery!!

    I had a build date of 5th Jan(off the production line), and the dealer recieved it 14days later (he said it would be between 7-14days from coming off the line).

    So I assume you could have a build date completion up until the 15th (ish) of feb and still get your car for 1st march - but its going to be close given that the dealer has to register and PDI the vehicle.

    My fingers are crossed for you that its being built sooooon.

    Whats the current wait on a 997S , from start to finish . Someone posted the other day that his dealer has come down to 4 months , that seems a bit quick to me..

    went into the dealership to order car on 2nd november and was told that the delivery would be in april if I ordered straight away. i told them that I could get a march delivery via a broker (a small white lie) and left it with them. two hours later, the dealer called and told me a customer had put back the delivery of a feb build 997s, and if i wanted it I had to put down a deposit over the phone (strange co-incidence don't you think?) - so the deposit went down!

    So the wait time came down from 5months+ to 4months, but this was the best timeframe I could get from brokers or dealerships.

    Seal Grey with ocean blue interior (I have had some seriousley sleepless nights over the interior choice! -but again members of this board calmed my nerves.).

    added the PSE four weeks after laying down the deposit after going to the dealer and revving the arse of a demo car with it installed I am as exiciteds about that as getting the actual car - did you get it on yours?

    Also looking at insurance now, quotes are coming in at circa Pounds2k! so hopefully porsche can do better when I speak to them this week.

    Seal grey is awesome.I changed my interior from ocean blue to black as i have the metroploe blue on my 986. Just fancied a change. Yes i have ordered the pse. I was actually lent a c2s cab with it installed and i have to say it was spot on.I dont know if you have looked at Tesco insurance they have quoted 1500 quid. I have used them for a while.

    Good luck with the wait Rob. I have to wait til mid April. I wanted the Feb build slot, but got the March build slot.

    Anyways, congrats. BTW, GT Silver looks great IMO. Can't go wrong with that.

    Rob,
    Congrats! I would be interested in your opinion about the GT silver vs Artic silver once you take your delivery. Regardless, it is a safe bet. I went with the black, but do wonder about seal grey for maintenance purposes. Mine is a Feb build with no build date from my dealer.

    Hello Godspeed. I have seen the GT silver in person when my c2s arrived at the dealer. I have to say it looked awesome. I have a 986 in artic at the moment. I love artic silver and my original choice was artic but after seeing the gt silver i went for it. It was a tough decision as the colors in my mind were just as good. But since my boxster is that color i wanted a change just, a suttle change at that.

    Which dealer did you use/recommend ?

    I'm hopefully going 997S hunting at the weekend and wondered whether to use Wilmslow or Chester or even Kendal at a push !

    Waiting for a March build C4S.
    GT Silver, Black interior plus few nice bits.

    Took ages to decide between Artic, Seal and GT. I think I've made a good choice, seems popular at least!
