    Yes,

Now all we need is for Kommandant RC to "leak" in advance of the official press release next month all the details of the 997TT specs., including peak HP and torque, 0-100/160/200kph times, top speed, and tranny options at launch.

Re: Very new 997 Turbo pictures!!!

he wont...even though we beleive he knows alot more than he claims. But we have to respect the fact that he does not want to ruin the relationship he has with "Porsche"... atleast he drops us hints here and there to keep us happy till February....

Re: Very new 997 Turbo pictures!!!

and again a new confusing information:

    3.7 is done with PDK
    No Tiptronic only PDK
PDK as a option from beginning

This information has spoken a person who is really informed and has tight relations to Porsche.

But, I have seen with my eyes a tiptronic car?!?!? Even shot some photos.

    AM

Re: Very new 997 Turbo pictures!!!

. . . perhaps the pic looks like Tiptronic and is in fact a camouflaged PDK

. . . i think it could be possible to use a Tiptr. gearshift for PDK

. . . perhaps they all sitting in Weissach and laugh already at us because we discusse so long about Tip. ?!

Re: Very new 997 Turbo pictures!!!

someone told me that there will be no standard brake on the turbo, but only PCCB..

i tell that we(me and all you) saw a 997 Turbo with "standard" brakes,he answer that that was a preproducion car and that then all will have PCCB brakes

he tell me that the base price will be 155.000 euro in Italy with 20% tax enclosed..but is too much, more than a F430..

i definitevely think that all what he tell me are BS

so..too much strange rumors..i belive only in what tell RC!

could you see where the redline starts?

btw this is my first post and i want to say heoo to everybody

Re: Very new 997 Turbo pictures!!!

Good quality pics...however the front LEDs and spots still looks suspect.

The bumperettes makes the rear bulbous and the two single flat exhausts looks odd compared to the quads on the 997S. Wheels look aftermarket as many have commented - here's hoping Porsche will make a 3rd generation Turbo turbine wheels - those Cayenne style monstrosities doesn't suit the car one bit. 4 out of 10 for design IMO.

The fron LED lights are still a little bit camouflaged, thats why. The car looks in reality very good, you just have to wait to see it live. The only thing I would have done a little bit different are the exhaust pipes but compared to the 997 CS they don't look odd since this is the Turbo and not the Turbo S (remember, the 997 Carrera has similar pipes). The wheels are just beautiful, I really don't understand what people want. Finally, Porsche got away from the "bulky" Turbo wheel design they used on the 993/996 Turbo.

Funny enough, this whole discussion remembers me of the discussion we had in 1999 when the 996 Turbo was due.
There was one guy named Viken B. by that time, he owned a 993 Carrera 4S. He made so much fun of the 996 Turbo design, he ended up with a F360 and probably drives a F430 now. A Porsche isn't only about looks, it is about functionality. But I still like how they look, sorry. It may be a matter of personal taste and preferences.

This looks like a US-spec Model

Sorry for being a week late to this thread.. but I'm surprised that no one seems to have jumped to the conclusion I have on this particular example: It's a US-spec model.

Evidence: The rear bumperettes, the MPH-denominated speedo (225mph), and what looks like it might be the slightly-jacked-up ride height (look at the space above the tires in the wheel wells vs. typical euro-spec 997's).

    Thoughts?

Not that it really matters, but Viken also had or still has a 996 GT3 Mk II.

Very well put RC , this is what make the Porsche so truly unique .... functionality , reliability and no drama to get one ( long waiting lists, over MSRP , easy to service et ) No other car has the kind of performance with as much functionality .

Yes. And I'm afraid they have been "stolen" from a private person...or he sold them to them, don't know.

Re: Have these pictures been posted?

Has anyone noticed the rear antenea on the 997tt? I wonder if thats for satalite radio

Re: Have these pictures been posted?

I think it is to transmit the testing data to the test supervisor

Re: Have these pictures been posted?

The antenna is option 461 Rod Antenna. It's a no cost option on 997, designed to "improve AM reception."

    Old and bad photoshop job.

Re: Have these pictures been posted?

Yeah I had seen that about three months ago and got really excited, then i called my dealer and sent it to him. He told me it was photo/chopped. I was really let down, I loved the smooth lines. It was even my screen saver for a while. Now I got the real deal of the silver 997tt in the snow.
