the new 997 tt will have an integrated ipod.
The ipod can be plugged in a docking station in the trunk. With the PCM you can control the ipod. Even with the multi function steering wheel option you can control the ipod. This integration seems to be the best one on the market. If you have ipod photo or video, you can watch the photos and videos you have stored in your ipod.
This option will be from start, about 600 Euro.

As far as we heard, all current iPods are supported but not the first (and maybe second?) generation. Yes, even the video iPod is supported, you can watch videos on the PCM system (unfortunately I think the screen will black out when the car starts moving).

We always said that we'd see 515-520 HP on the Turbo S. But I'm afraid there won't be a Turbo S from the start, sorry.

Do you think it'll be retrofitable to previous 997 RC or is it part of the a whole new PCM3 system which won't be retrofittable?

Doesn't it seem dumb that you have to put the ipod in the trunk? So every time I go to my car, I have to open the trunk to put my ipod in or take out?
I'd rather have it in the glove box, personally. Otherwise- cool feature!

I think that the 480 HP turbo has a lot more than 480 HP, just a guess, if they were only going to go that far, they wouldnt use new turbo technology; the ex GT2 engine would have been fine...cant wait to see the new cars dynod!!

Francois, relax my friend. It was just a hoax, a joke. Some people, incl. me, seem to get fed up with all that bragging about power and options.
There will be some sort of iPod integration but not for the video iPod and not in the trunk. And I'm sure Adnan knows that very well too, he just wanted to have a little bit of fun. Well done, Adnan.

It's a shame, it could have been a nice option. Ok obviously, iPod in the front trunk is not practical but an iPod integration idea was pretty cool.
Been enjoying my new iPod video on planes a lot lately and it's a fine toy!

I'd make that 25% for most of us.
The man is a vain animal by nature, and there's a huge amount of testoterone on the 997 Turbo board.
People who talk about power power and more power and yet forget that the 997 Turbo is more about power to weight and torque.
Having said that, I'm sure Porsche will make the new Turbo even more easy to drive than the previous one.

Disagree....
Give a 150hp car to a drunk guy/an inattentive driver tailgating on a slick road....and even at 65MPH, several people can be killed in moments....
If 500-700hp/lb-ft cars aren't desired by US buyers for whatever reason, they won't sell and mfrs will need to modify their product plans....but let the mkt decide....
Guys w/good judgement know where and when to reasonably exploit a larger fraction of the power of their cars....there are risks and limitations in every setting, whether a CA fwy/mtn twisty/track/German autobahn....let Darwinian selection prevail....the fear of death/injury/jailtime for vehicular manslaughter/lawsuits, etc keeps most balanced risk/reward guys in-line; pure risk-seekers often have very little to lose and will get themselves into trouble w/cars w/far less than 500hp....
