RC:Whoopsy:Ziggy:So the 918 is done with the recall now? I concur, it looks fantastic, one of the nicest looking 918 I have seen and I am usually not fond about black cars.
Recalls? Of course not!
still waiting for parts for the latest campaign, and I am sure Porsche will find something else soon.
Nick, I have to admit that I admire your relaxed view on this situation. I would get pretty mad because if I'd own a 918, this would be my favorite car (and probably daily driver ) and I would be very mad at Porsche if I couldn't use it for a while. I guess this is the reason I do not own a 918 ...and of course the fact I can't afford it.
Haha, I would loved to drive it more if I can, but as I mentioned before, the seat is not too comfortable for street driving. For daily, I'd rather take the F12. Nothing beats the F12 for daily usability. That why I was more pissed when it was out of commission from the accident.
Didn't know that you like the F12 so much, good to know and I can relate to it (drove it once, fell in love but didn't take the, very good, deal at that time because of my wife). Still...AWD would have been perfect on this car.

Honestly, I have yet to find another car that's better than the F12 for street usage. Perhaps a 911 Turbo S, but seriously, the F12 is more comfortable inside. Yes AWD car have better traction in foul weather, but F12 is still fine in the snow with winter tires and a educated right foot, same thing in the rain.
I know Futch will hate it for being too 'soft', but it feel just right for me. It is borderline with so much power going to the rear wheel only, but I am surprised by how good it behaves. it is my default choice when grabbing keys.
The Huracan also won me over, if I do Whistler runs right now, I take the Huracan cause of the AWD. But it has zero cargo room so there is a trade off. IF I still have the 911 Turbo S then it will be a toss up. But right now if I need to carry stuff and drive in foul weather, I take the Cayenne Turbo S, that damn thing is so much fun!

After 500 miles driving the RRS autobiography, I realize even more how good the Cayenne TTS was, and how the Macan is not even in the SUV/crossover category handling wise. That said, besides the handling being "vague" even in sport mode, the engine is fantastic, very reactive and lots of torque and HP, the behavior is very safe and reassuring, the interior is simply fantastic, probably better than my already fantastic loaded Macan turbo. The third row is small but good enough for our very occasional use. Overall for at least a third less than a Cayenne turbo (not S), it is a great buy and cherry on the cake it sounds better than any of my Cayennes ever have. And being bright red with black roof and black accents exclusive to the autobiography (silver wheels) and red/black two tone interior, it is not boring at all and looks pretty sporty. All season tires so ne need to swap the rims too and tires expected to last much much longer.
Winter pics to follow as soon as it gets dirty enough.

It is interesting at times, but the good thing is you've got the place to yourself. And the roads are sooooooo good. In fact I think we should organize a week up here with some RT members, it is THAT good.

Admit it...you spent an hour throwing dirty snow at your car. Don't be so competitive, Adnan.

How's the snow in Gstaad right now? I want to go snowboarding pretty soon and weather has been shit for snowboarding in most places in Europe. Had high hope for the Alps, but I'm pretty sure the condition in North America are vastly better on average nowadays. Was going to meet a friend in Italy and could see the bare ground on the webcams. Climate change is taking it's toll on winter sports in Europe.

The snow is great. I only come up this morning, but it has been like this all week. Powder snow, crisp clean air and a blue sky. Love it

Porker:3500km of Scottish salt, grime and... debris flying off a collision in the opposite direction. 🤔
Sh.....t !!! So lucky in your unluck . Getting flying debris from the other side Luckily they did not hit your windscreen and the car can still drive ............... What that on the highway ?

It is very different from one region to the other . The west Swiss alps had lots of snow 10 days ago ( regions of Verbier for example ) . I skied in so much powder , had it all the way to above my knees . My youngest son on his snowboard .
Now everything has been pretty much been spoiled , no more virgin off pist slops as there has not been new snow since 10 days, but what is here is good light snow . Still, it would ideally need 30 or 40 cm more , as you still hit rocks or trunks in the forest as the snow is so light .
But more east , Zermatt region for example, only 10 cm of snow fell , so best is to check your specific resorts

Indeed it was on the highway, I was traveling on the overtaking lane at +/- 160km/h when two cars traveling in the opposite lane collided and hit the divider. In the UK the divider is often not more than steel poles with a thick metal wire in between so everything just flew through/over. Lucky indeed, can't help thinking if something like that happens to a motorcycle, it's over and out.
