    GT3 Owners: Feedback on the stock sound system?

    Finding a dealer with a GT3 to drive, is difficult right now, I would be interested to hear from you guys on how good/bad is the radio/cd that you can order as a $0 option, otherwise I would test it myself.

    I'm not a big sound guy, but is the sound decent or would you replace it, I'm buying a GT3 for performance, but it would be nice to know that the radio/cd/speaker set up is decent or maybe even a little better. I originally was going to order a C4S and get the Bose Sound system, which would be nice to know if they put that in as a stock in the GT3, wishful thinking I am sure on my part.

    The stock system isn't all that bad. If Bose is your benchmark, of course you'll be dissappointed. As for finding one to drive, my local dealers have them sold before they hit the ground. The only way to get into one for a test drive is to hope somebody backs out or introduce yourself to an owner and hope he is kind enough to share.

    The sound system in the GT3 is pretty basic with just the dash and rear speakers, nothing in the doors (not any provision for door speakers). Then again, the GT3 isn't intended for the audiophile driver. Unless of course your idea of beautiful music is a Porsche flat-6 at 8000 PRM.

    I saw that car a couple of weeks ago on a visit at Brahmans,and I was actually wondering why it wasn't sold.

    The system from factory isn't bad. I'm driving around all the day and it works for listening to the radio or cd...

    but I have another question. There are 4 speakers in the GT3. 2 in the front 2 behinde the seats. But in the GT3 I drive, only the front speakers are connected. I thougt that the rear-speakers are not built in. when I turn the volume with the fader in the beckerradio, from front to rear, the sound vanishes. - so I think the rear-speakers are not speakers, there are just faceplates? is that true? or is something wrong with the cables, connection?

    Is it a CS you are driving? Maybe I'm wrong but I thought that a CS-Version has only 2 speakers?

    Although the Clubsport has the speaker covers in the rear, there are actually no speakers mounted.

    Like anders said, it is true.There are just faceplates in the back.We also thought there was a connection problem when we first bought it but we realised that there was no speakers in the rear .Anyway if you really want to have thoses rear speakers go to Porsche exclusif
    To me, the GT3's stock sound system is satisfying(love to listen to the engine) but if you want a bose sound system then you'll propably be disappointed.

    GT3 owners: Why are so many of these cars being turned in with only a few miles? I have a deposit on a GT3 and am wondering if this is a car definitely not for everyone.

    Any details would be appreciated.

    The GT3 is definitely not a car for everyone. I don't think there's actually that many being turned in after a few miles but I'd imagine someone that bought a GT3 because it was the cool new Porsche without understanding what the car is might do so. You didn't say why you ordered a GT3 but I ordered one because it's the closest I can get to a street legal version of Porsche's only current race car. The suspension is stiff (metal bushings are better for the track than the street), the sound damping lacking (better to hear the motor) and the driver aids like PSM and traction control are missing (more driver involvment required). It's the most powerful NA production motor Porsche has delivered yet and it's truly a race bred engine unlike the standard 996 lump. If those attributes are appealing to you then the GT3 is a good choice. If you looked at the performance numbers of the GT3 and thought it was equivalent to the 996 Turbo but cheaper you may have made the wrong choice.
