I highly doubt the the new M5's V10's will pop, during testing they had the revv limiter off and they drove it around constantly on around 10000rpm, the limiter is set at 8250rpm on the production M5 just for durability and the life span of the engine. On the where abouts for the E46 M3 engines popping, well i haven't really heard any cases of those?!
