997 - Nothing new but..
I guess this is another speculation on the web.
Porsche is testing a face lifted version of the current 911 that will hit American roads in fall 2004. Code-named 997, the 911 will get a new facial treatment that includes the return of more traditional round headlights. Other styling changes include new, larger air intakes, restyled front and rear bumpers, re-skinned doors, and four chrome-finished tailpipes. As far as engines, the current 3.6 litre flat-six will grow to a 3.8, increasing power from 315 to 335hp. A 911 S version will appear in all the variations of the 911 sporting a 370hp engine. Along with distancing the 911 from its little-brother Boxster, the 997 will keep the 911 fresh until a completely redesigned car (code-named 998) appears in 2007.
