Herbaliser:Being on your dealer's list is one thing, getting actual allocation slot is another. So far the dealers don't have any official info on the GT2 RS let alone allocation. They have no idea how many cars they are going to get.
I am pretty sure that the GT2 RS will be a very limited car. Unfortunately there will be a lot of speculation with the quota. Some dealers will invest in their clients by letting them buy the car at list price, other will make an easy buck by selling their allocation over price list to speculators. And with 918 clients front-running the queue chances are getting even lower...
Only limited by demand as far as I heard. No artificial limitation so far...but of course this can always change.
Don't compare the 991 GT2 RS with the 918...the 918 was limited, the GT2 RS isn't (so far).

Exactly but Porsche will try to make all potential customers happy. 
Speculation? Well, how did it work for GT3 RS speculators? Not so well I think.

wait until it's official that Mk1 was the last NA RS......rather safe of depreciation I would say which cannot be said of a lot of cars. Those who bought above LP have enough Money anyway and usually just don't want to wait but drive "tmrw". I know a guy who just bought one for a trackday....so....all a question of where you come from....

This the conundrum for me at the moment. I was waiting for prices to fall - and they have, but still not back at list in the UK as in Germany. In fact thy are still way over at £60K over list for a lightly used one. Then we have 991.2 GT3 imminent with similar performance. Not sure what to do

surely the GT3 mark 2 will be an excellent car, for all purposes as fast as the Gt3RS mark 1. but it won't have the RS feeling....

Luckily, I'm not interested in booze or women (one is more than enough for me ), so I guess I am lucky so far. 
However...honestly...if I had tons of money, I would really spend a lot of it on many many cars and by many I mean many.

Limited. It is just an empty marketing word. The 918 it also special. The R not.

SciFrog:The R is special in a way that it offered something not available otherwise: a wingless manual GT3...
But you can get a manual (even better GT3) soon. Just with a wing. The differences are so minor that they can only make difference in a bubble environment (or in like 30 years in the future)

If the .2GT3 has similar performance and cost $40-50,000 less why consider the RS? You know that the .2GT3 will have upgraded technology over the RS. I would wager that the .2GT3 will have the RS feeling in spades.
Nothing to think about UNLESS you want it as an investment car. If it is the last of the NA RS's then it may have some appreciation value.

in theory yes, but nothing of any significance.
I would wager that the .2GT3 will have the RS feeling in spades.
that i doubt. it will offer GT3 feeling. that is great but it ain't RS:::))) neither the feeling nor the looks.
Nothing to think about UNLESS you want it as an investment car. If it is the last of the NA RS's then it may have some appreciation value.

A friend of mine was an undergrad at the University of Michigan. After seeing PETA recruiting on campus he and his friends created an alternate PETA: People for the Eating of Tasty Animals. They had very well attended barbecue socials.
