Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Fil de discussion fermé

"Another limited R model" - would this be the 911 Sport Classic hinted at here:  https://www.total911.com/exclusive-porsche-991-sport-classic-and-speedster-in-the-pipeline/

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Fil de discussion fermé

This is the same joke as previously - just limited numbers does not make it Special whatsoever - maybe speedster because of it's shape - but Sport classic I never understood - and still my neighbor has sold his 997 - 70k over what he paid....

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Fil de discussion fermé

Does that mean is going to be made then, and if so, any idea of specification for the "joke"? :)

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Fil de discussion fermé

Let me guess - 450HP engine, bubble Roof for the classic, fuchs wheels , R Retro seats & fabrics , full leather Options , a few limited Stickers and approx 100k over a well specced Mk2 - happy ? blush

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Fil de discussion fermé

Never happy :) Always happy :) LOL

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Fil de discussion fermé

in all seriousness - I never "got" the sportclassic eventhough the Sound was deeply impressive at that time - maybe the speedster with a different windshield and back would tick some "Special" boxes that justify a massiv mark up but the rest is like Porsche choosing the Options for you with a Twist, however, of course it will be sold immediately no doubt

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Fil de discussion fermé

hope I can get a speedster, in blue...

640ftlbs/870NM is too much I think, firstly Porsche like smallish incremental increases and crucially 870NM, real engine dyno steady state 870NM not rolling road torque is much more than Porsche would give a rear wheel drive 911, even with 345s....IMO

I see the 911.2 GTSs are launched:  https://newsroom.porsche.com/en/products/porsche-911-gts-new-models-2017-carrera-targa-13296.html, so we are on the road to the GT2 launch now

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Fil de discussion fermé

my vienna dealership yesterday confirmed my GT2RS allocation (nr. 2 on the list) and they told me that they might get 3-4 cars. this seems to me an indication that the GT2RS will not be limited in numbers, rather in time but there will apparently be generous supply.

they will be taking GT3 orders after geneva with deliveries in late summer (if all goes well according to them).

I think they are just afraid you move to the Red side again indecision

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Fil de discussion fermé

My dealer ask for a 5.000 USD deposit to all clients that have interest for the GT2RS.
Said that will send the info to factory and later factory will inform to the dealer of how  many units would get and how it would be the process selection.

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Fil de discussion fermé

Being on your dealer's list is one thing, getting actual allocation slot is another. So far the dealers don't have any official info on the GT2 RS let alone allocation. They have no idea how many cars they are going to get.

I am pretty sure that the GT2 RS will be a very limited car. Unfortunately there will be a lot of speculation with the quota. Some dealers will invest in their clients by letting them buy the car at list price, other will make an easy buck by selling their allocation over price list to speculators. And with 918 clients front-running the queue chances are getting even lower...
