    short-test of Imola Racing Modena

    In the new issue of "auto motor und sport" there is a short-test of the Modena tuned by Imola Racing. For about 22.000 Euro you get 475 hp out of 3.6 litres (132 hp/l ).

    0 - 200 km/h in 14.3 sec

    Although I wouldn't change anything at the engine of a Ferrari (in fact I wouldn't change anything at all), that's how the Modena should be.

    If you ask me, everybody allowing these guys to play around with a Ferrari should be asked to give his car back to the producer

    As I said, I would NEVER change anything aftermarket, I just said, that the standard Modena should have around 475 hp and these performance figures.

    I just noticed that the car tested by AMS only had a top speed of 286 hm/h?

    This smells like a changed gear ratio to me... (may be these guys hoped that acceleration times would be taken but not the actual top speed)

    call me nuts, but i actually like the FIA GT car looks of this imola ferrari... i wish the challenge stradale would have looked more like the FIA GT race car.

    but in order to guard against misunderstandings... aftermarket ferraris are nearly blasphemy!

    another blasphemy: having the tested model in ams in mind, the whole Challenge Stradale is a disappointment (besides sounds)...

    Like a good friend told me lately: "The Challenge Stradale is for the heart and emotions, the GT3 RS for the track and getting the work done".
    I guess the Challenge Stradale is the right car for people who are very emotional, who are not driving to the track too often and who love that certain "je ne sais quoi" on a sports car.
    Although the GT3 RS would be my first choice because of performance and because I think it is a bargain, I'd choose the Challenge Stradale if money and performance weren't my top priorities. A Ferrari still makes my tummy feel weird...like a beautiful woman. You know she's not perfect or very good in bed but you love her voice and her looks and her walking...
    And now I stop before my wife starts reading this.

    I love the RS more every day, and am certain that I made a good choice given that I intend doing many trackdays and possibly some sprint races.
    But I try to be objective and, even though it seems that in a straight line the Challenge Stradale seems to be slower than the RS, I think it's a very good piece of kit even for committed track use.
    Personally I despise the F1 shift system and all these "sequential" trannys, but I wouldn't go out saying that the Challenge Stradale doesn't perform well on the track...

    I think we will see some direct comparisons and track tests between the two cars, and I would wait until then to label the stradale as a poor track performer...

    luigi, already got yours? i just heard from my dealer that my car has shifted behind for three weeks -- now i'll probably get it first week in december man, first it's delayed, then they tell me "no, false alert, everything's right" and now it's delayed again... porsche really knows how to keep the anticipation vs frustration battle alive!
