    Looks like a different car

Just saw these new TechArt shots , had seen the ones with the black wheels but these with the silver wheels are great . Hard to believe how the TechArts parts change the look of this car so much . Nice the way they blacked out the fog lamp bar and 370 hp !!

TECHART's tuning enhancements for the new Porsche Cayman include a front add-on spoiler, side skirts, a rear spoiler that reduces lift on the rear axle, and TECHART Formula wheels available up to 20". TECHART provides additional performance upgrades like sport springs, and a coilover suspension system with firmer ride that is in the final testing phase. Still in development from TECHART for the Porsche Cayman is a stainless-steel sport exhaust with a deeper tone, stainless steel manifolds, high-flow sport catalytic converters, high-flow air filters, and 370 hp / 3.8 liter engine swap. There are extensive options for the Cayman's interior that further serve to individualize the coupe.

Bet it handles like a dog with those wheels and don't like the sill extensions...

Re: Looks like a different car

Looks very aggressive; I like it but I don't like that spoiler extention - tacky

Re: Looks like a different car

Those rear brake rotors look tiny with those wheels. I do kind of like the blacked-out foglamp bar.

Re: Looks like a different car

    I like it.

Re: Looks like a different car

i love it.. and 370 horses thats sick

Re: Looks like a different car

    There's a 911 killer.

Re: Looks like a different car

This is the car that the Cayman should have been, maybe with the 3.6 engine. Then it would have been worth Pounds5k more than a Boxster.

    excellence December 2005:

A 3.6- or 3.8-liter Cayman would be an absolute rocketship - but the 3.4-liter six is a well-matched partner to a very willing chassis. --

What about a much-rumored Cayman Club Sport? Porsche brass won't say any thing about it - other than shake their heads in a stern and negative manner. With 30 fewer horses, and a superior chassis, the Cayman S is already close enough to the 911."

In the US, IMO Porsche would charge at least $17,000 more than a Boxster S for a 3.6-liter Cayman with a LSD option and at least $27,000 more for a 3.8-liter Cayman.

I wonder what TechArt wants for a 3.8-liter engine swap?

Re: Looks like a different car

I wonder what the downsides are to a third-party 3.8L engine swap.
People tend to look at the extra bhp but forget about all the other things. Does anyone seriously think that TechArt (or even Ruf, or whoever) spend anything more than a fraction of the time testing that Porsche does?
    Not for me, thank you.

Well, I have to agree with you on that!

Re: Looks like a different car

If Porsche offered a X package with LSD for the Cayman that gave it the same straight line performance as a 911 Carrera but made the Cayman cost the same as the 911 Carrera; those, like myself, who would not order the X package because Cayman without the X package has enough power for their purposes, probably consider the Cayman a good value. Those who want more straight line performance may not consider the Cayman as good a value.
