    f430 launch control

    it happens that all my friends who have an f430 f1 never tried the launch control ,they all tell me that they have been advised not to do so because it harms the car ..i personnaly think its BS ,cause if it was true ferrari would have never made it.. anybody have experience with it ,or have tried it ,have a movie etc..???????? please give me comments..thanks

    There is the saying that the clutch lasts about four LC-starts, than it has to be replaced. Personally I don't think the number is that low, but LC definetely does the clutch no good.

    I have seen a F430 doing 0-400m at 12.2 sec (the best time) and he started the car more than 10 times in front of me... the guy who has it is a friend of mine, so the 4 times is not true...

    Furthermore if you start your car some times with LC you can go to your dealer and he can tell you the life of your clunch in %.

    so it seems my logic was wrong...it is harmful for the car. and you are right rossi ,i called the ferrari engineer ,he gave me the same figure than you did...4 lc will kill the clutch... so it is mostly a marketing BS,better not have it ... i had the same launch control in my m3 ,i did it over 30 times in a year,never had a single problem...i wish ferrari used the german getrag(i think)smg box instead of magneti selespeed

    Isn't the SMG mad3e by magnetti Marelli ???
    Anyway ist not a problem with the gearbox but with the cluch.

    For me the LC button is an absolutely useless marketing gag, just to say "look, I've got the same system as Schuhmacher in his car".

    Just imagine, how often you really have to use this stupid button: NEVER. Or do you do racing from standstill. e.g. from one red light to another? I don't.
    So I don't bloody care if there's an extra button in the centre console or not. It even seems to me, that Ferrari puts all the useless buttons there in the centre console. Just realize, LC, Auto...

    Right, the US don't have the LC, I guess it's because of warranty reasons.

    in the us ,the clutch is covered by the warraty ,that's why there is no lc , here in the middle east ,its not covered,i dont know in europe . that's why we have lc..they need to sell few clutches..

    so if the the clunch costs 3000euros if we divide this by 4.. it is 750euro per LC PRESH...

    I dont believe it...
