Re: Wobbly bottom
Right, I have to hold my hand up and go back on what I've said about the Alpins, or at least throw some more observations into the pot...
Last week the temperature was hovering above zero degrees. With fresh winter tyres on, I noted that the grip was more confident.
This week, the temperature has got milder - around 8.5 degrees or thereabouts. I would have to say that the character of the tyres is 'slithery'. Infact more so than the summer tyres at the same temperature! Pretty easy to lose traction if you're not being light with your right foot, both on slow tight bends and in a straight line! ABS also quick to cut in. Good fun to play with, but not ideal for the public road!
Tyre pressures are 1ittle low (35 back, 27.5 front) after coming back from dealers, so that might not help matters. I assume normal pressures should be adhered to?
I'll be able to give more observation when the temperture drops again, but don't go rushing to swap on my account, based on what I said earlier in the week.
Anyone with more expertise care to offer an opinion?
