WORLD EXCLUSIVE!
"Paddle shifting" will be introduced in two years on the upcoming 993 model.
Prospective customers fortunate enough to own a color monitor and a 14400 bauds modem might even download actual pictures of the new Tiptronic S gearbox off the manufacturer's BBS.

Any know why Porsche has not offered the paddle shift in cars like the turbo ? Would anyone like to see it as an option , seems to have really caught on with Ferrari buyers as more people order the F1 option over standard shift with the 430 .

Even with the improved gearbox everyone is raving about in the 430, I just don't like the feel of the car doing the work for me.

I've never had a problem with one hand on the wheel, the other shifting, driving like a maniac or otherwise. I've tried it, I have no affinity for it.
I used to say the same thing... i also blaming when abs was out... i could brake the car with no diffuclties without abs system... unfortunately now i have changed my mind..
I didn't realize driving fast was so difficult, you needed a nanny-tranny to accomplish it.
