    997 Turbo Scoop!!!! March 2006 !!!!

    today i've spoke with the porsche's dealer and when I've asked him how much hp? he said " power is 480-500hp, this is how much was told us one week ago".
    And when will be on sale??? " we thought on june but they told us March 2006"

    Happy news for 997 Turbo future-owners!!!

    ?480-500. Do we get to vote? Or will 500 be more likely if we can get Porsche executives and marketing to read the rennteam forum over the next 2 months?

    Maybe its rated at 480, but with a "over boost" trick that allows 500hp for a short time with a fully open throttle. Saabs do that.

    The funny part: most dealers worldwide don't have any info on the 997 Turbo, they just use infos found on websites, heard from customers, technical/regional reps, etc.
    So please don't be too enthusiastic about what your dealer told you, especially regarding the introduction date.
    The launch can't be in march if the dealer introduction (the well known dealer only events somewhere in Portugal, Spain, whereever) is much later. I think JUNE is still a good guess. For Europe.

    This week's Autocar (http://www.autocarmagazine.com/) has the 997T on the cover. They claim to have a SCOOP !!

    Has anyone read it yet ??

    Edmunds' "scoop" uses even a larger spread of HP rumours (from 450-500).

    They must be using a super-duper-pooper-scooper.

    I'm just guessing, but I hope that your use of the plural verb "are" rather than the singular "is" does mean that we need have fewer concerns on your behalf regarding what you really meant when you misspelt it as "pennis".

    PNA has a scheduled "product launch" event at a race track in the northeast in june. this is based on the race track 2006 tentative schedule.

    Dealers have no info yet. Some German sales people have seen the car in the factory and confirm that it looks like the pictures we have seen recently.
    Apart from that, they have the same source of info than we have: they heard it from people who know somebody who knows somebody else. They might also get good chunks of their newsflow from a certain internet forum
