I had a short career flying taxi/charter flights in a twin enginge Cessna 340, but this was mid-90s so not a lot of work to find at that time, so I eventually gave it up
IR training is fun, there's nothing like coming out of the clouds during an approach and see that the runway is actually in front of you like you thought/hoped

I actually took off on a taxiway once in a Cessna 172 at Gothenburgs Landvetter airport
I had a SAS DC-9 behind me who was in a hurry and the tower told us to speed up, my instructor replied to the tower that if we taxied any faster we would take off, the tower replied "Cleared for take off" and off we went

It was certainly one of the more memorable moments of my flight training
Here a overview of the airport, as you can see the terminal is located at the end of the runway and I was taxiing out to rwy 03 which is more than 2 kilomteres from the terminal, so no wonder the SAS machine was getting impacient. Since the taxiway is that long (and wide) it was just like taking off on the runway

Other memorable moments includes a birdstrike just before touchdown in Antwerpen, a flock of pidgeons decided to take off just as we landed - there were birds flying everywhere Fortunately it didn't hit the propeller, just the underside of the plane.
Another was having two German Tornado fighters crossing about half a kilometer in front us (and doing about 500 mph) in poor visibility. We were flying VFR (visual) at the time and the weather was getting worse, and we couldn't get a respons from German ATC, so we were feeling a bit lost (and scared, Germany has very strict rules for VFR flying) and then suddenly two fighters scream out of the clouds just in front of us....
My heart rate doubled in less than an second at that point, and it was almost a trouser wetting moment
These two incidents happened on the same trip, and we didn't have a instructor with us, we were just two students in the aircraft. Here's the aircraft we were flying:
Fortunately it didn't hit the propeller, just the underside of the plane.

Nice story. And an even nicer airplane. Would make a great victim for my Jane's F/A-18 simulator

My current practice on FS is (severe) crosswind landings using posky's 767, that bird is damn challenging! Trying to perfect crab landings and the old, swing the nose around and straighten on minimums! Maybe I'll throw in a bit of cloud into the mix!?

That's it! I'm switching carreers! My God, those manoeuvers are nuts! That'd be one heck of a job. Bilal, can you recreate such conditions in Flight Simulator? I got tired of night time naval carrier landings.

Of course you can Crash! You can do absolutely anything! I'm trying to perfect such manoevers in FS right now! I would have to say that such landings on the video are just a regular day at the office for most pilots. Whenver there is a cross wind situation, you have to aim the aircraft into the wind, without getting into the precise speeds and angle requirements, you basically then hold an angle to the runway, letting the wind eventually drift you onto the runway. The hardest part is then straightening just before touchdown to avoid tyre damage caused by the wheels drifting sideways at 150mph on a thing that weighs 500,000lbs!

Some time ago i found a video made by french airforce pilots flying about 30ft (and less) over african desert. I have the file on disc somewhere, but it would be to large to put it online. I think it was in Chad. Maybe you can find it somewhere.
This a great video from a german fighter wing, which has flown Mig-29's from the former east-german airforces.

I remember when I landed in Hong Kong for the first time, back in 1996 when it was still under British rule. They were using the old airport which was insane. Our Cathay Pacific 747 flew a few meters above downtown, absolutely incredible view, even if you're sitting in the plane. A few days later, we actually went to see how the planes almost touch the roofs of the buildings. Incredible view. It is actually a good thing that they built the new airport, it is really a miracle that no catastrophy happened when they were using the old airport.

KaiTak used to be real adrenaline rush.
You felt like you could look into the windows of high rise apartments you were flying past. My wife hates landing and taking off when flying, so I warned her about it in advance. She confirmed when the aircraft was taxiing that I had not been exaggerating. 
At least the taxi ride to the downtown hotels was a very short one in the "old days".
PS: Speaking of short rides, I do seem to remember that a China Air aircraft ran out of runway in the mid-90s when landing at KaiTak, which meant that it ended up partly in the bay.

They used let Aeroflot and the Indonesian airliners land there. And those carriers have the worst records in civil aviation.
