    997TT - New pics??

New images spotted on the 997TT... Personally don't like the new front and especially not the fog-lights. Why fog-lights btw? They reminds me of one thing I dislike with the Caymans... but let's see if this is the final front-lip or just another pre-production version... pictures look "Real" at least and doesn't look like a PS-job to me...

That's just my two cents at least

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

    I like it

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

And the other pic showing the front...

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

    Is this pictures processed?
It is little bit strange looking if this is final design.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

I think the vents on the lower rear add a very aggressive flair to it....much more dramatic than the front

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

    Thanks Lukas,
Nice pics and although I am no expert at recognising real pics from fake, these seem to be the first real ones.
Not too sure about it, not as "clean" as the 996 Turbo but a lot of presence.
Not a huge fan of the front fog light and the back looks very "busy" but in a nice way I guess.
I like the side air vent, there's a lot of 959 in there!;)
Overall, pretty nice, but definitely not what I expected.
Official pics should be with us soon!

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

We have to wait for RC's input

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

The more i'm looking at the pictures i like the car

The pictures was spotted on the swedish car automagazine homepage "Teknikens Värld". I'll try to summarize the text from the swedish site.

"Teknikens Värld" state that they are the first media presenting unique new pictures of the new 911 Turbo. Pictures are taken from a "secret" testrun at Nurburgring.

They also state that information from the development center in Weissach says that the engine will be 480bhp and will do 0-100km/h under 4 seconds. Top speed approx 310km/h. Later during 2007 Porsche will introduce a Turbo S with 525bhp. Introduction in Geneva 2-12 March.

Maybe not any news.. but once again confirmed that there will not be 500bhp in the "standard" turbo released in 2006

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Looks a bit half-baked and bulky to me.

I promise I will never complain about these teardrop-air inlets of the F430 again...

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

this car...the hips look like from a 996 no? anyhow, i love it:)

Yes, but to be fair, he might want to be tight-lipped, at least this pic is down to just ONE horizontal slat on the side intake, but I think that disappears in the final result, ala 996TT. Now all we need is SPECS.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

I see a lot of Chris Bangle in this one.
Looking forward to the GT2 now.

480 for the non-S and 525 for the S is the "original" rumour I heard last spring, if that comes out in 2007 with a Cab form by that year's end, I am willing to wait for it.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

    Hope not

Hey man, you are a genius! That seems to be very close to the final product

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

I find the front a bit overdesigned... just have to see it in the real.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

I tend to believe that this is the real thing too. Can Carlos confirm if this is PS job? Here is the bigger images.

I like it. It looks the part. Just looking at it tells me it means business.
"I am the Porsche 911 Turbo and I'm gonna rock your world!"

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

More I look at it, more I like it! Lines are definitely not smooth as 997 Carrera but, this was allways the case...

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Lovely back - not sure about front?

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Those might be the real thing, it looks very consistent with the previous spyshots.

    I like the back...
    But...
    WTF IS THAT FRONT?
WHEN the hell did Porsche have dinky looking appendages all over the place?
    Somebody, please, get Lagaay back

There is still some camouflage over the front spoiler, i hope it covers some of the lines which are meant to tie the whole thing together...

BTW, it's funny how the car is gradually exposed through 'spyshots', ending with a nearly clean car just before official pics:)
It happened exactly the same with the Boxster, remember?
Seems they mastered the manipulation of online forums

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

The back might grow on me, but the front is just plain fugly.

It might turn out to be the best performing car available, but it has got the looks of something that is suffering from a terminal disease. Those foglights look like warts to me.

Quo vadis Porsche, quo vadis... .

Maybe it looks much better in person???

    Tim

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

i like the rear of the car , the front need to detail up those line, head light is well!

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Those fog fog lights are horrible, even worse than the Caymans. Wheels like nice, can't wait to see then in their real guise.

To me, the front is over designed.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

As everyone has said before the front fog lights look clearly out of place. Wonder what Techart or RUF will come out with for that front bumper, then it might be a keeper!

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Congratulations, whoever took these pictures hit BINGO!!! These are the first pictures of an (almost) NON-camouflaged 997 Turbo, I can confirm it 100% now. Finally. The front may have been "photoshopped" but it is pretty accurate, if not 100% real. This looks 100% like the car I saw.

    Good shots.

Wait until you see the real thing, it looks pretty good when you see the car live.

I'm still hoping it's just the angle/color/camo/whatever, but in that picture the foglights look like sh*t
There's still a bit of camo left on the front, so maybe there's still hope

I say wait for the final unveiling-if you don't like the way it looks, then you don't like the looks of the 911Turbo-period. Now all we need is some "spyshots" of a dossier of the final specs.

    Re: 997TT - New pics??

Guys, the front is too caymanish and hope it does not look like this. In my humble opinion the 1st mistake Porsche made was making the front of the Boxter similar to the 996. Yes there were differences but still very much the same. it kind of stole the 911 exclusive looks from it. Now the new 997TT and Cayman. In the old days, there was one 911Turbo and no other 911 could even match it's fat, mean look. The 944 and 928 looked completely different. Now they all look alike. Right now the 997 has it's own unique look and I hope it stays that way.
