In your case, probably not- you're going to take a big hit in depreciation if you trade your baby for a new one.
Now, if you can get a good discount on a new then it just may be worth it. And of course, if money is no problem then go for it!

I think it's worth it if it also gives you the opportunity to get some features you may have grown to want as well. Ie. I wouldn't do it for the identical car but just with the 3.8 L engine, but if after having the Carrera, I decided that I wanted sport seats, the Bose stereo, and navigation or sport chrono for instance, then I would.
Having said that,eventually, you are going to want the larger displacement engine. Watch as the power on the base and S Carrera gets increased in the next couple of years, and as the Cayman S starts to get more powerful eclipsing the current base 911 . . . this is a viscious and never ending cycle though where you either keep spending big bucks or draw the line somewhere.

What model and options do you have on your current car? I'm assuming it is a 997 C2 and you are looking at going to a 997 C2S or C4S. Are there options you are after or engine?
I am actually looking into the C2s and the C4s. You guys are right tho, jumping from a c2 and c2s might not be a good option for me since the difference are very minimal. The only reason i want to do it is because of the Red Calipers, THEY LOOK SO SEXY! Maybe i will wait and see how's the turbo gonna look in person and maybe i will do a jump from c2 to the turbo
