I find overall that Porsche has done a great job with these engines, managing to improve performance while retaining the large majority of the NA engine's character, in my opinion of course.
I fully agree. Also, I think the sound experience in these current 911 cars is quite good (contrary to what is written in other places sometimes). Including the 991.2 turbo with its nice and aggressive sound in sports mode
991.2 Carrera models with PSE sound nothing alike compared to the 991.1/991.2 Turbo/S. I agree, when you push the Turbo/Turbo S engine hard, it sounds OK but it doesn't exactly meet the definition of "good" in my opinion. The new Carrera models with PSE however sound quite good, never understood why people don't like the sound.
Also, one should not forget that these cars replicate their performance every time you need it. On standard tires. After all these strange "tests" (Ferrari 488, AMG GTR - all on fake tires, that cannot be ordered as a standard option together with the car or that will not be delivered even by official dealers) this conclusion seems important to me. In theory, other cars might be quicker but not in real life
True but the new PZero N1 seems to have some drawbacks at lower temps and in the wet. I guess nothing is for free in life.
