    What is a wife?

The Porsche driver in the family!

Well, my wife never understood why I drive a Porsche. When I came home in my first Porsche, a 993 Targa, she thought I've totally gone mad. She never cared about cars, at that time she drove an Audi A3 hatchback with auto tranny. Her desire for a sportscar (or for cars generally) started with the Mercedes SLK. She loved to have that little tiny sportscar with a retractable fixed roof (she hated soft tops). When I talked her into a SLK 32 AMG to replace her SLK 230 after her lease ended, she enjoyed the more powerful engine too but never had the desire to really get it going or to drive to a track. When her SLK 32 lease ran out, it was time to put her on the right "track". I tried to talk her into a Porsche but although she always liked how the Boxster looked, she hated the soft top. I somehow put her under pressure (take it or leave it...me being a bad bad husband ) and she had no choice because she wasn't able to get an expensive car for her company without me vouching for her (she had just opened up her own business at that time and had no income yet, on the contrary). She even refused to go with me to the Porsche dealer to choose the color, options, etc. After the car arrived, I didn't let her drive for the first 1000 km to run the car in a little bit. Actually I wanted to get her hot for the car, seeing it sitting in the garage but not being able to drive it. And we had very nice and sunny weather by that time.
Just a few days ago, she thanked me for the fifth or sixth time that I talked her into a Boxster S. She loves her car, she started to understand my passion for Porsche and believe it or not, she even started to ask herself how she could drive a SLK for such a long time.
And not that this is enough, her girl friends recently confessed to her that the Boxster is their dream car. What turns a woman more on? Right, other women telling her how good she is looking, what nice clothes she's wearing and what hot car she drives. I won't mention the hot husband, that's a different story.

Next year, I plan to take my wife to the track...to take some driving safety lessons during a driving ed event.
I hope I don't unleash some hidden beasts (or desires )...

    "A former mistress."

Oscar Wilde (I think he said this)

    "Sometimes a pain in the a.. "

    (I think I said that... )

Oh boy, RC, thinking you said that is dangerous.

Saying you thought it could be fatal!

Only if she know's RC's rennteam password.

About the same story here. My wife also just started her own company and needed me vouching for her etc etc.
Since I have a 996TT cab she needs to have a bigger car (she drives a VW Passat break 19.Tdi now). Her first choice immediately went to the VW Touareg so I also started talking into her about the Pepper
To make a long story short: the CTT is ordered and will be delivered in December
And now she's even talking into me (I'm a little bit in doubt right now -> upcoming 997TTS cab or Lambo Gallardo Spyder) telling me that I'm not a real 'Porschist' (afficionado) if I even doubt about buying a Lambo

Anyway, she occasionally drives my car and to be honest I'm totally confident in her driving abilities so np there.

    Re: Rules for Wives ?

Rami, if you really want to get a Lambo, get the upcoming facelifted Murcielago. Only one thing: R O C K E T.
Otherwise, stick with Porsche, the 997 Turbo will be a blast to what I heard and the Turbo S won't stay behind.

Your wife will love the Cayenne Turbo. My wife still hates the looks but loves the ride and comfort. The Cayenne Turbo is an incredible car, it can be comfortable and slow and you can drive 270 kph through Autobahn curves with a fully loaded truck and it feels rock solid. Unbelievable setup.
For me, the perfect family car for any season of the year.

    Re: Rules for Wives ?

RC, unfortunately the Murci has a pricetag of around 250.000 euro here and THAT is a bit over the top. And then I'm not even talking about the Roadster (25K euro extra).
I'm sure it will be a killer but I have drawn the line at approx 175K euro. I'm drawn to the G's look and especially knowing that the Audi group is behind it makes it only that much more interesting. On the other hand ... it ain't a Porsche, right
The dealer will give me a call in a few days when they have a dark grey G SE in the showroom. And after that I will check out the F430 spyder. Altho that one may be out of reach due to the pricetag (not sure how much it is actually).

About the Cayenne, my P dealer let me drive a Cayenne S for 8-9 days to get a real feeling of the car. At the end of those 9 days she was already sold, then we drove a CTT for an afternoon and 2 days later we finalized the order:
CTT Basalt Black Metallic with full black interior and about 7.5K euro in options. To name a few:
    servotronic
    Elec roof (not the pano)
    Porsche logo in headrests
    RDK
    Tel module
    Multifunct. steering wheel
    Privacy glass
    Light comfort package
    SatPiu tracking system
    HomeLink

And now I'm looking into some aftermarket mods such as wheels (22" TechArt, 23" Rinspeed, ...) and also perhaps the lowering module from TechArt. Do you by any chance have experience with that lowering module?

    Re: Rules for Wives ?

I've let my wife track my Porsches--women very often are better track drivers than men. They don't have the testosterone factor and ego, and normally take instruction better. No big deal, really.
