I mean more of the 960 and its variants. I mean, yeah, i know RC said it was coming during 2020, but its still just so hard to believe with diesel gate still being the virtual reaper of cars for VAG.

991 GT3RS Mk2 ????????- fact is that there is nothing written in Stone nor are they "confirmed" - with the exception of a planned GT3 Mk2 at Geneva and a 2 at IAA....

The 991.2 GT3 is a sure thing, so is the 991 GT2 RS. The 991.2 GTS is also coming soon (next year).

960 is also pretty sure but it comes 2020 or later.

Another R model could be the rumored Speedster, which I haven't heard much of lately. If it comes, it will be a 991 model.

992 (next 911 generation) comes 2019 if everything goes well and according to plan.

991.2 GT3 RS? Not too difficult to decide on short notice if they put it on the market or not but the car is indeed in development as far as I heard. angry

Cayman GT4 and another Boxster Spyder (both 718 versions) are coming as well as far as rumors indicate but I have no clue about the engine tech. Very likely not n/a but... yes

I don't believe that we will see a .2 GT3 RS. There's simply no time for it. 2018 will be the end of the 991. With the .2 GT3 and GT2 RS being a sure thing, I don't see the time slot. 3 GT (2 RS) models in 1 year? I don't think so.

Not to worry. Take a GT3, slap on a bigger wing, add air intakes and replace the front emblem with a decal. Voila! Plenty of time. Then tell everyone that it is "limited" and it will sell out before you know it.

Porsche prefers to sell more 991 GT2 RS...so it depends how full the order book of this one will be. Smiley

VW isn't in such a bad shape as they seem to be, they can "afford" to pay, even if it will hurt them a lot.

I concure they will try as well to sell as much GT2RS as possible but price tag will be much higher than 3RS and even R, so not unlimited queue. Smiley

And of course, Turbo is not appealing as possible last NA... Smiley

but I hope I am wrong and will be happy to see a ton of cars sold. That means more interesting projects to come!! Smiley

i see your point and concur. although i am number 2 on the GT2RS list of my dealer (almost guaranteed delivery) i shall not go for it and keep the GT3RS until the 488speciale comes along (will go for end 2018 or early 2019 delivery). i know....turbo charged as well....but....a ferrari!!!!!!

Sorry to sound so patronizing but let me tell you how this things work. First Porsche will introduce the .2 GT3 in Q1 2017. There will be only dealers car on the street in Q1 if any at all. Then they will start accepting orders, so customer configured cars will hit the streets in Q2 and Q3. It will be crazy - they will sell the quota immediately. The order book will be full from day one, because of the low price, because of the manual and because there's no competition. So the production capacity will be overloaded. Then starts the preparation for the GT2 RS launch in 2018...And that's all that we are going to see from the 991.

So, no more GT3 RS. It will remain the ultimate N/A 911 ever built, maybe even forever.

I was only replying to your common sense statement which is a dream about no more GT3RS and Yes Porsche does not have your common sense, no offense either Smiley

now regarding the profit short cut you suspect is indeed a strategy group from VW to recover from the fiasco. actual GT3RS is one example. there is demand, increase production accordingly.

As I said, do whatever you want with my statements but don't necessarily try to convince yourself with your own assumption to discover if yes or no I know somebody in the premises. Smiley
