NEW PROBLEM RECALL FOR CLUTCH

I dont know if you have heard about this before but

there is a recall about a sqeazing sound in the clutch pedal.

Porsche sais that: a special lubricant should be applied to the clutch edges, so that the sqeazing sound from the clutch pedal is eliminated...

i must say that in my car that sqeazing sound is very noticeable but from outside, do not expect to hear it from inside...

the process to lubricate the clutch edges is simular with the one replacing the RMS !!!!!!! not so simple...

note that : porsche sais that in some cases the clutch should be replaced with a new one!

i am afraid i down this route

Relax, I got a new clutch because of the sound (apparently nobody knew what it was all about) and the sound came back again, not very loud but it is still there and I suppose it gets worse when the cold season starts because it was really bad during cold weather.

New clutch? GREAT. Usually the gearbox has to be removed to exchange the clutch, making it a pretty expensive thing to do. If Porsche does it on warranty, why should I complain?!

I posted about this about 1-2 weeks ago. Apparently there was a similar problem with some 996's, and if you search rennteam, you find a "fix" with lubricant.

I had my local dealer try to lubricate the clutch pedal bushings, and the sound (a squeking when you depress the clutch pedal) went away for about a week.

It has now returned. There is nothing wring with the car itself, just a squeaking when you depress the clutch. It is annoying, especially during some spirited driving.

I will try to get it taken care of again in the near future.

I notice that it doesn't occur in the morning, with my car cold. I began noticing it only after I'd driven home from work and parked my car in the garage and turned off the engine. I depressed the clutch so that I could place it in 1st gear before getting out of the car. That's when I noticed the squeaking.

yes guys i dont remember if i told you this but this sound is generated after the car has been driven and become warm

the hardest the drive the more noticeable the sound
