So if you haven't yet, start making new ones right now until we're off World Wildlife Fund's list.

My bet is the Cayman ( or a mid-engined 911 Who needs the back seats?) will become the flagship Porsche model in the not too distant future.
To Nick: so the current 997 is just a tweaked 996, do I get you right? So I wonder why almost 80% of the parts of the 997 CS are different compared to the 996 Carrera 2. Even the engine, which is based on the M96 design, has almost no part in common with the "old" M96 engine.
But if you know better...enlighten us.
RC you recall when they told us 80% of the 2002 996 was different from the 2001? I thought you would be on that game.
The base 997 has the same performance as the base 996, different headlights and minor cabin changes. They can claim once again 80% different parts but if it looks and walks like a duck, it is duck. Porsche is a master of disguise.
For those of you that believe kids go crazy over Porsche's, drive one in S. CA. Kids here would not give it a second look. It is commonplace a ubiquitous commondity.

Unfortunately this "coolness" of Porsche cars also creates a lot of envy over here. But NEVER at the same level as if I would own a Ferrari or Lamborghini. Owning italian beasts would probably close all doors for me and my family, no more friends and helpful neighbors. Sad but true.

If it walks like a duck...well, of course it looks like a duck. A 911 is a 911, this is what is so fantastic about this car, people recognize it immediately and it is a legend.
People love the 911 because it is a timeless product.
And you can't deny the fact, that you get for much less money almost as much as you get in a Ferrari. And you can't drive a Ferrari in winter time (shouldn't be a problem around YOUR home... ), you can't take two little kids with you and I'm not even sure if an airbag deactivation system is available for the front seat of your car.
And finally: Performance. I'm not impressed with Ferrari performance, excluding the Enzo and recently the F430. All older Ferraris, including the 360 Modena are crap. They look nice but is this really everything?
The current 997 Carrera S with 355 only is substantially faster on the track than the 360 Modena. And the Challenge is only faster due to the semi-slicks. Take the F430, the same performance figures like on the "old" 996 Turbo S.
And like I said before: Ferraris may excel in the design department but performance is not that impressive for this kind of money. I would always prefer a Lamborghini over a Ferrari but heck, what do I know?!

RC, you are always truthful.
Please answer this question. If a Ferrari was socially acceptable in Germany, isn't it true you would be driving a 430 Spider?

I swear, Nick: if such a car would be socially acceptable over here and if I would have the necessary money, I would drive the upcoming, facelifted and much more powerful Lamborghini Murcielago. Honestly.
