Reviving this 3 week old thread

Is the there any new information to support the use of the 3.8 in the .2?

Reason being is that someone posted on RL yesterday that his contacts at two dealers came back from the November US GM meetings and said 3.8 for the .2. It's bewildering for sure because he provided early GT4 info which turned out to be true. Another poster said his dealer told him the same thing.

I would be shocked if we see anything other than the 4.0. The logic is obvious and frankly we've seen it posted from some people who are very well connected.

Im this close to staying off of the message boards until the press release but I can't do that!

That guy is trying to get his name out to be THE GUY at rennlist. Everyone there just want fame and glory.

It's been reported by many that the .2 GT3 will be a 4.0 with manual option.

FSW and AP both said many times that the next GT3 will be 4.0

Tried to get some news from dealer where I have my deposit.

so far they don't know much more, but the 4.0 is confirmed.

Does anyone have more details ? I start to worry if selling the .1 was really a good idea, except that the Motor was fragile ....

i really expect 500 HP as output.less will be disappointing. The difference of 20 HP had been nevertheless always there in the past models...

Let see.... I'm really excited about the new car and really expect a fantastic car !

Hope ,Whoopsy was right with his statement !

It will be 4.0L Thierry.

It will be manual.

It will not be above 500hp as the tune will be on the torque a la Cup version.

HP doesn't really matter at that level, torque will do it better...

RL is populated with a lot of ''I know the cleaning lady'' but so far a lot of BS...

anything you can expect from what happened between 997.1 to 997.2 i.e. slightly noticeable but the difference is there to give you the want to buy it.

If you like the .1RS now, there is no reason to get rid of it, the car is perfect.

If you think the price will drop and you would rather cash in on the value, then by all means sell it.

IF a .2RS is coming, it will be quite a while in the future. the 4.0 GT3 will be announced at Geneva and the GT2RS has it's turn this coming summer.

People thought the .1RS was the last of the NA GT cars. Porsche made the 911R

If everything goes according to plan, the .2GT3 will not be the last of the NA GT cars. But it will be of course another fantastic car from Porsche, the GT3 that is.

991.2 GT3 is coming. Official live intro Geneva 2017. Web press intro little bit earlier. Start of sales EU March 2017, first deliveries EU June 2017. Manual and PDK-S. About 8-10% more expensive in EU then 991.1 GT3.

991.2 GT2 RS is also coming. Presentation autumn 2017. Start of sales early 2018. PDK-S only. Most probably limited in numbers. Base price above 230K € in Germany.

There will be aditional limited edition manual only model at the very end of 991.2 production life.

991.2 GT3 RS is as Whoopsy said big IF...

8-10% more expensive ?? What is justifying this ?? Nothing new vs .1

On the other hand, Porsche is already milking the cow on standard models, where you can have a 4S with powerkit for almost 170k.........

Why not milking the GT customers as well ???

I hoep the increase will be worth the additional benefits the car will deliver......

991.2 GT3 will probably be the last NA GT3 , but may be I'm worng with this.....
