Forum is very hard to read

What's with all the centre aligned text? It makes the forum 10 times harder to read

Re: Forum is very hard to read

Usually, text is aligned to the left, you always know where to move your eyes to start the next line. When it's aligned to the center, each line starts at a different place making it much harder to read.

WHAT!!?? Being new to this forum, I can promise you that it's one of the easiest I have experience so far... Something wrong with your browser setup maybe ?

Re: Forum is very hard to read

the text here IS left aligned...the problem is on your end

There isn't. It's a golden rule of web design, centered text is harder to read than text aligned to the left for the reason I state above.

When was the last time you read a novel that wasn't aligned to the left? there's a reason for that.

Re: Forum is very hard to read

Yes, definitely, I have been on other forums but this is by far the best one. I think you should re-configure your browser setting, and continue to stick with us! Once you re-configure your browser setting you will for sure believe that this is a very easy to read forum!

Its not the website...its YOUR BROWSER!
Something is wrong on your end...not rennteam.com's

Re: Forum is very hard to read

Actually, it must be the coding. I'm using Opera 8 and the main post text is aligned to the center. If I open the same page in IE6 it's aligned to the left.

I don't know what the problem is but AFAIK there's no setting in any browser that allows you to align a block of text differently from the rest.

The site has a stylesheet, yet it used [FONT] tags with a style class which might be the problem.

Are you using the Opera browser by any chance? in my experience text appears centered in the Opera, but if you use Mozilla or Explorer the text should appear on the left. I use both browsers, Opera and Mozilla, depending.

yes, never come across this issue before though. Looking through the code there's doesn't seem to be any align attributes for the tables cells, even though there is valign. But still, Opera should align to the left, not the center.

Re: Forum is very hard to read

    Probably an inheritance issue

And while we're at it, the links are hard to distinguish from the normal text, they should have an underline, or different color, or something.

Well, if I remember correctly, the links are a different color, but how do you differentiate between very dark blue and black?

you can do it manually, it's not that much more work really you can make it bold/underlined/coloured etc. what ever you want
