    looks great!
    it looks like it could use some spacers to push the wheels out to fill the fender up a little more however

    Still alot of tape over that rear bumper however! Awesome pics though - great opportunity well taken I'd say. Did you get a look at the side air intakes?

    those exhaust are exactly as the base 997 carrera!!!

    Other than that, the rear with that wing, really interesting!!!!!

    Agreed- however the shape of the openings in the rear valance suggest to me that might not be the spec. Time will tell....

    Those aren't the actual exhaust style and size; look at the freakin cut outs in the bumper assembly. They aren't even close to reality. Revvv

    Yeah, Revv, but that they come thru the bumper at all is pretty cool.

    I cant understand what you like from that car... The car is exactly the same with 996 turbo!
    The only difference will be in the power...
    NO DSG NO NOTHING.

    When is Porsche going to introduce DSG gearbox? in 2010 ?
    Their only problem is how to produce new Cheaper models (Cayman) in order to make more profits or cars with 5 doors etc... They dont invest their money to introduce new gearboxes etc...
    I bet they are gonna produce Porsche Taxi as well...

    I am really dissapointed...

    Thanks for your observation. Something important going on with this exhaust outlet through the bumper. It makes no sense. There is no reason to have those through the bumper,
    that I can imagine. The heat build up is a real problem; you want to evacuate that, by not having that covered, on the bottom. Are they covering something new ; in regards to Turbo placement ? Something is radically different in regards to exhaust architecture here. This is not a styling
    excercise. Revvv

    the lights are taped as well. but it does just look like an evolution, no revolution whatsoever. and the spoiler is not my taste either...
    wonder how it will look for real.

    Maybe the exhausts are totally phony....note what looks like the edge of an exhaust outlet behind the right side bumper vents

    the wheels dont look to bad, i actually like tem more than the 996 turbo wheels. they seem to have some similarity to ferrari wheels though..

    Great catch! But these two pictures are even more spectacular than you guys think. Why? Because this is no prototype anymore, this is a 997 Turbo built at the factory on the line with the other cars, meaning that there are only a few months to go until the 997 Turbo hits the streets. June 2006...still waiting.
    It also confirms the latest info we had and we posted a while ago: no spectacular design, just a "997 version" of the 996 Turbo. The real change happened under the hood...with some luck there will be more than 480 ponies, maybe even 500 HP flat.

    What's with the tape on the edge of the tail lights ?
    Air outlets under there ? Mirrors look standard, though.

    God. I must be blind. I didn't realize how bad the cut-outs were until I looked at the picture again in my office PC. Also, the rear lights are taped-up. I completely missed that.

    agreed... we will only get relief in 2007 with the turbo S with pdk and pccb and 550 hp.

    No camouflage, just protective layer...car was fresh out of production. Maybe they just did the regular testdrive they do with new cars coming out of production or somebody was driving the car over to Weissach or LB.

    There is black tape over the outside edges of the tailights and on either side of the license plate area. I don't know what the tape is covering or hiding, but there is definitely tape on the back of that car. I don't think they come out of production with random black tape on the cars. They must have put the tape on for a reason.

    Great pics! I like the look very much, even though it's not a huge departure from the previous generation.
    I wasn't expecting to be shocked by the design, that job should be left to the power.
