    Wheel spacers needed on a C2 w/ std. wheels?

    Question for my fellow helmets-

    After checking cannga's new beautiful C2 in his 'Red Hot California Dreaming' thread, I noticed it looks like the wheels don't quite fill out the wheel wells, particularly at the rear. Is it just me, or is it just an illusion from the camera angle?

    I could've sworn I saw wheel spacers on the Tequipment site, but I can't find them now.

    I'd like to know what you guys think- would the 997 benefit from spacers when it comes to the std 18" wheels?

    Did it do the job?

    Ok just checked with my dealer's parts dept., and they confirmed that the spacers will work fine with the C2/18" std wheel.

    He also told me that antoher customer used them on a C2S/19"'s with lowered suspension with no probs at all.

    Anyone else out there with the wheel spacers on?

    Agreed. At some point after the yard is done and most of the furnishing is in, I'll work on getting those 19" Carrera Classics

    One of the options for wheels, I believe it is XRR, Carrera Sport Wheels (US $650), comes with 17mm spacers for the rear wheels. I haven't heard anything about it in this forum, but I'm assuming it will push the wheels out more, better filling the wheel wells.

    H&R also makes spacers.
    What is the maximum size that could be used without making the car look odd?

    Do the Sport Design Wheels come with Spacers? And if not can they be simply/cheaply added after?

    According to the Swiss order guide, only the C4-models get the spacers included for the back with the XRR wheels. But the spacers themselfes conflict with the XRR wheels.

    @MHakkinen. I have spacers on my 987 Boxster S and IMO it is A MUST HAVE, 5 mm for the front and 17 mm for the rear !! Those 17 mm are the maximum you can put on without bringing the wheels beyond the wheel wells, but it looks GREAT, better than stock !! I have 19" Carrera S Rims and PASM, NO PROBLEM in handling. It's the same for the 997/S, my Porsche dealer had tried it out, IMO 5 mm is excellent for the front (Max) but NOT ENOUGH for the rear, HOPE this helps.

    Any possibility you could post a pic or two? Would love to see just how flush the wheel is to the well.

    That 5mm front/17mm rear combo sounds delicious. No tire rub right?

    her's a pic of my car with 10mm in front and rear, i'm not such a pro that i feel any difference in carbehaviour...

    Yeah baby, that's what I'm talking about! And those SD's are very classy indeed.

    After my P-car arrives I'll figure out which combination of 5mm/10mm/17mm spacers to go with. I'd like to take steps so I can drive off the lot with them, but it's too difficult to make the decision just from the pics here.

    No it's not lowered.
    Better for the looks, but not as comfy in a cab, and not available as an option at porsches.

    I believe you've missunderstood the 10mm of Beltars'spacers.

    He has also the original 5 mm spacers ( left + right = 10 mm )

    HeHe..., that's a good one Sidney, no Beltar has 10 mm spacers on each side, both front and rear, 2x10 mm = 20 mm FRONT and the same for the REAR !! Mind that Porsche doesn't have 10 mm spacers, they are aftermarket, provided by Beltar's Tire Specialist. He told me this when I was looking for spacers

    Because a cabriolet doesn't come with -20mm suspension.
    A lowered suspension is beautiful on a cab but isn't healthy for the cabbody on long terms

    The dealer, because at porsches you can't oreder this option on a cab...
    And i believe it, since i drove a 993targa with lowered suspension and 18" speedlines (a true beauty). At the age of 4 it started rattling and squeeking allover...

    Yes, and a targa 993 is build on the chassis of the cabrio, you even couldn't get 18" standard...
