    Deposit on E90 M3

    I did the deposit on E90 M3 today. The dealer told me that they may have some news on it around the end of year 05'. However, it's very likely I have to wait for around 1.5 year. The dealer said BMW AG has informed them to sell the E46 M3 STOCK and will not take any more custom order. This imply the production of E46 M3 will end soon.

    The dealer also told me that the price of E90 M3 will be increased about 15% from E46.

    this is interesting since the earliest ive heard about the e90 m3 introduction is 2 yrs away. I guess im just suprised that the dealer would take a deposit without knowing exactly when the car will be available.

    Thinking of putting an order in myself for next m3... Not so sure I'd actually end up taking it mind. The new 3 series is a dog! but hopefully the coupe and M3 will have the brutish charm of the current one.

    Any one in the UK made an order yet??
    Probably best to get an order in now otherwise it will be a 2 year wait like the m5!

    Just spoke to the BM dealer here at Canary Wharf in London and they have already taken 8 orders on the Coupe and 8 on the Cab.

    They are asking for Pounds500 deposit already, which obviously isnt very much but anoying seeing as though no real specs or release date is available.

    Going to ring around and see If I can get myself higher up the waiting list at another dealer... Not sure this is gonna be the one for me, a 911 would be my first choice but not sure if I will be able to stretch that far!

    Anyone got a deposit down in the UK?

    Rich - If you'd really like a 911 more but can't afford it, buy a slightly used one...

    I suppose that is something to think about. For me it would have to be the 997 over the 996 and def an S. If I was a bit shorter would have been a 993 turbo!!

    Wonder what kind of price you would be looking at in a years time on a nicely specced 997??? M3 with toys is going to circa Pounds50k...

    YOu know I really like the look of the Cayman, especially in red.
    Current car though is a 987s and the difference to the Cayman doesnt seem enough to warrent the extra cash. That all changes though if they bring out a CS!

    I wouldn't be surprised if the price of the CS would be slightly below the 997 non-S. But then again, you don't need many options :P

    I had put down HKD100,000 (ie USD12,820) deposit for queing up, as I know only a few people are on waiting list.

    My plan is to get a Cayman S now and drive it for 2 years at most, then the E90 M3 will be about to arrive.

    I'm intrigued with the E90's supposed performance specs, but I dont have the disposable income to invest into a car that has a probability of being catastrophically ugly.
