Thanks, I couldn't find the thread either. But there's not very much info in that thread, ain't it?

I think it's way too early for a F430 CS. Even if Ferrari wanted to build it already now, they simply don't have the capacity. Their production is booked out with Berlinetta and Spider, there's a minimum wait of 18 months, so I guess we will see the CS in the second half of the F430's lifespan, when the demand for that model slowly goes down.

Heard rumors that CS will come out either '06/early '07, essentially supplanting the Coupe for more performance-focused buyers....seems logical as CS would be far more profitable to F than selling mere Coupes light on options (like most of ones seen in flip mkt)....and F has compressed the time gap btwn launch of Coupe and the more profitable Spider in 430 vs 360...
Capacity will be a delicate balancing act, w/600 and Enzo 2.0 rumored to be on-way in similar time frame.....but assuming fixed capacity, wouldn't a profit-focused co. rather build $250K+ cars than use any limited capacity for base 430 Coupes?.....

Probably but then how would they be able to market all the goodies of the 430 CS based on racing experience ? The 360 CS was based on the 360 Challenge cars. The 430 Challenge Stradale (STREET/street legal) components will be based on the 430 Challenge (RACE) car. But first the 430 Challenge car has to be out and race for a while in order for that sales pitch (street version) to work.

Strad, is the Coupe vs Spider ht difference explainable by nl settling of suspension and/or nl variances? Were these all cars w/delivery miles and delivered to dealer at roughly same time, etc?

No, the springs/shocks on the Spider are taller and softer.

Grant, totally agree w/your logic. Can't recall if N-ring times for 997S Coupe vs Cab have been posted anywhere....curious how much the performance delta btwn Coupe vs Cab has been reduced in latest F and P's....

If it's just for the street (and you aren't the sort of driver who really rips it up in the canyons/mountains) and you're an open-car fan then the Spider will be more fun for you, sound better, and have better resale.
