    Stuck CD

    Any one have any ideas how to remove a stuck CD? When I hit the eject button I receive a message that sats the CD is unreadable. I can still play the CD but it will not eject. Thanks for your ideas and help.

    This has happened to me twice in my '06 997. Each time, I switched the car off, waited a few minutes, and restarted both the car and the PCM unit multiple times. And, after each fresh "reboot" the CD remained both stuck (non ejectable...) and the display showing the same "unreadable" error message.

    Then - each time...The following day ...the in-dash CD unit started working again. Go figure. Must be a Porsche gremlim. I was playing MP3 encoded CD's each time this happened. I love cars that cure themselves...

    If it was an MP3 cd placed in a earlier non MP3 PCM (MY05) that will happen and may have to be replaced.

    Happened to me several times before. Then at one point the CD player gave up completely. Got a new PCM unit installed on warranty.

    There is another thread discussing this, do a search. Seems to be some issues with the CD player IMO.
