    Porsche intends to become major Volkswagen shareholder

    German Spiegel magazine just announced that Porsche intends to aquire 20% of Volkswagen ( with the help of Merrill Lynch )
    What a move!

    At first glance this seems like a very poor idea to me. VW's recent troubles have perhaps made "getting in" less expensive, but is that the same as a good deal?

    What a Kentucky Trailer Park

    Porsche invented the VW anyway, then after the war, Porsche made VW pay them $$$ for every car built that used Porsche
    designed Syncromesh. Then later VW CEO is Porsches Nephew(?).

    Hell, they are just getting back!

    Maybe Porsche will use the Lamborghini Gallardo chassis that is built at the Audi plant in Hungary, add a Porsche motor and body and call it a 999.

    According to the article, the purchase plans are based on financial advice, intended to secure the future of collaboration projects between Porsche and VW such as the hybrid by minimizing the danger of a hostile takeover. Porsche can allegedly pay the 3 million Euro out of its cash reserves and thus would not risk any of their own production substance.

    Porsche has baught yesterday 10% of VW, that represents 32.9 million shares.... I wonder what the Porsche shares will do now???
