Oil change questions

If things go as planned, I will be picking up my 997S this week. Since the closest Porsche dealer is 2 hours away and I plan to do my own oil change, I want to pick up some oil while I'm there. If I recall correctly, it is Mobil 1 0W40 and I can't find anywhere that stocks it in town. Does anyone know how much oil I need for an oil change? I plan to pick up a few extra liters as I assume the car will burn some during the first few months. TIA.

Porsche says use Mobil 1 0W40. If you can find it in stock somewhere, buy a whole case. I burned up several quarts already and I've got 8000 miles on the clock. Are oil and filter changes easy enough to tackle? I'm a backyard mechanic type.

I think the first one is at 20,000 miles but I'll be doing it every year before the car goes into storage for the winter.
