Porsche not taking orders for X51!!!
I was told that they hope to complete production of the 50 cars by December...
Did anyone hear the same story?

I just talked to my dealer. My order couldn't go in because Porsche is not taking orders for the X51. The reason is that they are going to produce the 50 Club Coupes and only then will they start producing cars with the X51 again.

It is true that the 50 Club Coupes (X51) get production priority
And that's 100% fine by me, I understand that.
What pisses me off is my dealer telling me since August that the car will be one month late, etc etc etc...

I don't know about the club coupes getting priority. Aerosmith's X51 order got moved up 1 month from Oct production to Sept production. My dealer was unable to get the X51 on my Oct. car but Nov took it so I am mfgconf with a Nov car.

Drive to the dealer with a F430 and get your deposit back .
this is THE solution!

Indeed what a car!
But that bumps up the budget considerably (CCM + Bucket + etc...) and at present, I would definitely not feel comfortable driving a Ferrari from an image point of view.
It's bad enough with Porsche already.
Maybe it'll change with time, but right now, the Ferrari is a no go no matter how good it is.

you will get used to it! believe me! (and so will your mates)
and no need to order flashy colors, get it in stealth titanio and it'll be hard to spot you in traffic.
regarding the budget: keep the (probable) resale value in mind -- F430 vs fully loaded 997 S X51.
but this is not fair -- you've ordered your 997 and it will be damn fine car. i'm really looking forward to your reports and pictures.

Fanch,
I have no idea what goes on inside Porsche, but if w I hope you hold out. And maybe a little righteous indignation with your dealer would encourage him to do something nice for you?
