    Time on the vessel

    Could anyone confirm how long it has recently taken for the vessel to reach the Port of Brunswick, Georgia from the time it departs? I've heard an average of 20 days probably sounds right, but wanted to see what the latest experiences have been.

    I was told it was a solid 10 days to make the crossing. Mine got here in 7, and my salesman couldn't believe it. I don't know if they sandbagged on the status dates, or if Dr. Porsche himself "tweaked" the freighter , but it made me happy to get it a few days ahead of expected.

    Mine finished production on Sept. 7. Dealer said he'd tell me when it got on boat. From there, he said, it takes one to two weeks to sail then if at front of line or back of boat the difference in unloading could be one to five days. Then, the transit could have a few stops at other dealers. In other words, from finished production on 9/7, car would arrive in Atlanta end of Sept.- first of Oct. Plus or minus one week.

    From the last shiping schedule
    ONVESL date 8/31
    Arrive BRUNSWICK 9/12

    That would be 13 days

    Thanks Roadracer, GA5656 and Trundle997@ for your stats.
    Trundle997S - you will literally have one of the few cars produced post-summer production break. For the car to have been ONVESL 8/31 it probably was produced the week of Aug. 22 which was the first week of renewed production.
    Good to know well rested minds and hands put together your machine.

    How long would it be with ONVESL 9/2 to San Diego, CA?
    Plus, I guess, a few days to get to Northern CA...?

    Hey Blue -

    It looks like mine is on the same ship, the Lyra Leader. It is supposed to be in San Diego on 9/25. I would guess 5-7 days or so to Northern CA.

    Who is your dealer?

    9/25+5-7 days??
    I was invited to a track event on 10/6. Hmm, it sounds like I will need to do the 2000 mile break-in in ~2 days...How may mph is 6th at 4500 rpm?

    My dealer is Carlson here in RWC.

    5-7 days is a guess...and I have heard of much longer waits than that between port and the dealer. You will be cutting it close, especially with trying to be done with break in!!

    Keep us updated and post some pics when it arrives!

    The Lyra Leader is arriving in San Diego FROM Port Hueneme, CA, (http://www.sdmis.org/schedule/) which is about 190 miles CLOSER to San Francisco. Is your car being unloaded there?

    My dealer (in L.A.) said it takes 7-10 days from a ship's arrival in San Diego to arrive at the dealership.

    I don't think they discharge Porsches in Port Hueneme. They typically share space on ships with other auto brands, so I suspect those are what are being discharged in Port Hueneme. I am in O.C. California and when my car came in the ship arrived in San Diego on Tuesday and I drove home in it on Friday. Granted, others on the same ship didn't see their cars until the following week.....I just lucked out.

    I didn't check the port schedule close enough and assumed the arrival port would be SD - I didn't even notice Hueneme on the route. I did get a Euro delivery BMW which was unloaded from Hueneme but I thought all of the P-cars made their way through SD.
