    ordering cab C4S

    Thanks to the advice of a lot of Rennteam members I came up with a pretty good list of options. I'm only going to highlight the ones that I picked thanks to the input from this forum.
    Artic Silver, Terracota, Black Top (good advice about not picking another color for the top)
    Carrera Sport wheels (come with 17mm spacers in the rear wheels. It should look cool for not a lot of money)
    Thicker leather sport steering wheel (thanks Stradale)
    Adaptive Sports Seats
    Leather: door finishers, instrument, gear lever trim, sun visors, rear view mirror, package A pillar. Hope there will be enough stitching to satisfy my senses. Am I missing anything critical in the leather department?
    Delete model - I'm still wavering on this one, like the idea of the clean hump, on the other hand I'm afraid it might look too plain.
    Now, the big and final decision: Should I go with the X51 or not? I realize that it is a lot of money, but I like the idea of the PSE, the extra power and the bragging rights that come with it. What do you guys think?

    don't get the model delte- you can always remove it if you decide against it with a piece of floss
    then you can hang it on your wall somewhere

    X51 and the brake upgrade ....... I think the red brakes clash with the Terracota interior anyway . I am not a fan of Terracota but if you are going for that color I think the Terracota looks much better with GT silver . X51 and the brake upgrade ....... Also the BOSE sound system and navigation I could go on and on but whatever you do with a C4S cab you can not go wrong .

    Sounds great, fantastic! Pretty much the same options I plan to order, except different colors!

    Rear console in leather too? I would! More leather the better,IMO.

    I'm pondering the X51 too- waiting to hear the reviews! Also the PCCB's- tempting!

    I also think that GT Silver looks much better than Arctic Silver w/ T-Cotta. (I've seen both in person) Bose is a must. PSE is a must. And imagine how the Bi-Color Black/Terracotta would look w/ black top down. I think it would look great to surround the Terracotta w/ a continuous band of black as opposed to having a black mass behind all that Terracotta. (If you don't mind a black steering wheel)

    The wheel was 2 tone on the Porsche site. I agree, that's the way to go!

    Right... Was just thinking that with top down, the black would be hotter in summer sun than terracotta. My 997SCab (due in Atl in 3 wks!) is sand interior because I'll have top down allot and was afraid of scorching heat on dark colored wheel.

    BTW, GT Silver/ Terracotta was second choice and would be first choice w/ coupe. Just couldn't settle on body/top not matching. Got black w/ black top instead.

    The dark int/ wheel is definitely a consideration for me too for the very hot central valley summers.

    The wheel is in GT Silver, with the rim polished.
    I'm considering the GT Silver, but I'll have to stop somewhere. Just decided to add the dome light cover in leather as well...

    I live in south Florida and have a black interior in my Boxster. When it's sunny and very hot, say 95, and you're driving slowly, the top is up and the a/c is on. When it's not very hot and sunny and/or you're not driving slowly, the seats and steering wheel don't get hot. If you park your car in the sun on a hot day with the top down, the seats will get hot but I've only done that once in 32,000 miles.

    I deleted the model designation on my 996 and love the clean look. It also makes for easier waxing.

    My X51 997S (PLPROD Sept. 26th) will also have the model designation deleted. Personally I think the clean look is classy.

    Don't want to wait another year. Also test drove the 996 turbo and the S, and I prefer the normally aspirated engine.

    RE:XPA - You're welcome.
    Good move on the leather visors. With the Terracota you'll get leather Terracota instead of black plastic. In a cab especially nice.

    Center consule in leather would be really nice w/ your selections. Also EAA - Leather package Switch panel. Gives you leather on the vents and by the defroster trim. For Terracota this looks really good.

    Don't delete the model imo.

    At first I was going to say - I'd get the PSE either from the factory of after but I wouldn't go with X51.

    But I think it depends on your situation going forward. If it were me I'd be thinking about a Turbo cab for close to that kinda money to trade in for in a year or so. If there's no way you want a Turbo and will hold the car for years and years and if money isn't an issue I'd definately go with the X51.

    Thanks Stradale. I do plan to keep the car for a long time and I will look into the rear console in leather. I was concerned about scratches and I thought about breaking up the terracota a bit. I'll look at it again.
    BTW, I may try to use Detailing Dynamics to apply the 3M film. If you were do it over, would you do the whole hood and avoid the line? My dealership in Princeton, has a guy to come in and do the film and I don't feel to good about that. I'd only have to get to LI...and hopefully before I got any dings...
