    Forget the re-paint. We are in the U.S. You can't sell a previously damaged and repaired car as new. The dealer could put you in a new car and properly disclose the condition on your car on a resale for under 10K.

    As someone in this thread already stated you didn't buy a new car to have a re-paint. Look at the re-sale side of things the car will not bring the same money on re-sale with a re-paint and a story.

    Sorry about not trusting your story but trolling on boards, as you well know, is a favorite pasttime of many and with your limited posts and limited info and no pics your story, on the surface, seemed doubtful. The previous post does point out some good points that I would pursue if I was you. I would also get more Porsche factory reps involved, the GM from the dealership and get some good legal advice. There is an attorney, I will post his name, within the next few days, that thrives on situations like yours. I just mentioned his name when I was having problems with a very minor repaint on a new Toyota Sequoia and I had the GM calling me and I had a check in hand, $2000, and signed a release that I would not pursue the dealership legally, within a few weeks. This was for a minor scratch on the molding above the passenger side rear wheel that was repainted and not disclosed to me prior to purchase. Consumer fraud laws are definitely on your side. If it was me I would either want a full refund or a new car and nothing less!! And I would be relentless until I was successful. Also, research the internet under Lemon Law and Consumer Fraud for the State of Illinois.

    Chuck if your scenario is factual it just adds up to one thing..A BLOODY REPLACEMENT , give them the damn car back .
    Myself in the UK had a load of problems with a car to which in the end I was so pi**ed that on the last visit with a problem I demanded a courtesy car so that I could leave my pain there and then talk to someone high up , I did this and ended up getting a replacement and it was the latest modle with a better color..

    You got to be strong and insist ( this is the main thing ) , dont talk to the shop floor muppets talk to the higher ups away from the dealership ..

    Wow.. a bad experience to say the least. I don't know the laws in your state, but in FL there's a lemon law that covers sale of damaged/repaired vehicles as new. I'd be pressing for a new vehicle - screw the repairs and free merchandise offers.
