    I do miss the trunklid and roof as introduced on the RS and R, it really does a lot for the look of the car imo.

    Not sure if this has been posted (I got this from Rennlist Macca posted it) but what do you make of it. Notice the hp. You think this will be in the .2GT3? 485hp? Seems low to me. A cup car is much lighter.

    Those are the specs from the new Cup - road car likely to be similar (but not necessarily identical).  For reference, the 991.1 GT3 made 440 NM of torque and made its slightly lower power 750 rpm higher (8,250 rpm) on the tach.

    Th 911R and RS with 4.0L made 20 NM less (440 NM) despite same displacement.

    Grant:

    Th 911R and RS with 4.0L made 20 NM less (440 NM) despite same displacement.

    Typo - the R and RS had 460NM and Cup (and possibly 991.2 GT3) has 480 NM.

    My point was that the torque benefit of the 4.0L over the 3.8L in the 991.1 generation (20 NM and could be felt) is now twice as big in the 991.2 generation (and the power comes on sooner too).

    I doubt the increase in peak torque itself is much noticeable, the difference is less than 5% on a sunny day, but rather the overall increase of the torque curve. Right?

    Going from 440 Nm in 991.1 GT3 to 480 Nm in 991.2 GT3 is an increase of 9.1% and will be easily felt and make an amazing marriage to the wider ratios of the 6spd Manual!

    Assuming Cup torque is indicative of road car...

    Not too worried about 0-100, but I think it's likely that a Manual .2 will be as fast on a track as .1 PDK-S and the .2 PDK-S will be as fast as .1 RS Smiley

    Not sure I will have the ability to drive it hard enough to make a difference. When I drove the .1 Cup car for a 3 days school I think I only cover 60% of the car's ability. 

    That was part of my decision to go for a ClubSport instead of a Cup car. Time wise, I am about 10-15 seconds off the pros in my track, which is a like a 130 second lap, so about 10-ish % off. Far closer than I was doing in the Cup car at Leipzig against the pros, I was like 20+ seconds behind them.

    Yeah, I imagine someone could continue to improve for years in a Cup before finding the car's limit...

    from your connections, do you know the exact hp of new GT3?  485hp does not seem much of an upgrade.  From history, new GT3 always have same or more hp than outgoing RS. 

    if only 485hp, I may still buy one, but only hold for few months, and then flip for small profit...Smiley

    Portimao is my favourite track together with Spa and the Ring. Ups and downs including blind corners looking seemingly the Same present a big challenge, the crest going into the final corner is a real bum clincher.
