Busted Windshield & NAV
Got nailed by a rock earlier today. What started out as a dime sized crater has now turned into a 12 inch long crack and growing by the hour. Anyone out there know what a new windshield goes for at the dealer? I know I can probably get one somewhere else cheaper, but call me crazy, I want Porsche glass.
Also, I've noticed that my NAV unit has been acting up lately. Seems like the hotter it gets the more problems I run into. It takes about 10 minutes for NAV to start up, and when it does it says I'm "off road" or it can't give me route directions. Also, when trying to input an address I get a "DVD Unreadable" message sometimes, or it takes about 10 minutes or so to "load data". After I got home today I took the DVD out of the player and it was scorching hot. I wonder if having the DVD unit mounted so close to the hood that it gets way too hot for normal operation. Anyone else have this same experience? Seems to me that high 90's, and even 100 degrees, should have been considered when deciding where to put the unit. Oh, the disc itself, while very hot, showed no signs of scratches, etc. It's performed well in the past, but not recently.
Thanks in advance!
Mike
