    Chrome Pipe and Short Shifter

    Anyone has any idea to retrofit these two items on a 987S in Southern California?
    Any negative sides to do that?

    Your local Porsche dealership can provide and install them (ie, through Tequipment)- I ordered them both from the factory on my Nov. delivery 987S - I don't think you have to worry about the install - the Porsche dealerships do these all the time. The chrome pipes really add a nice finishing touch and are easier to clean/maintain according to my salesmen. I saw 2 987S on their lot side by side, one with stardard pipes, the other with the sport pipes - sport pipes more muscular looking and fill the space nicer as well as being chrome and not that coppery finish on the factory pipe. Gives your "S" a nicer rear end!! Why are you thinking of adding the sport shifter - do you find the throws too long on the standard shifter? That was the reason I opted for the sport shifter.

    You could add the chrome exhaust tip yourself with a 15mm socket and ratchet. Apparently the hardest part is getting it perfectly centered, not the actual detachment and reattachment.

    This is the price i got from my dealer
    The chrome pipes are $560 plus tax for the part
    and approximately 2 hours to install at $130 per hour

    Total almost 1000 US dollars....

    $130 per hour? Who installs it, a surgeon?

    Highway robbery I say. From the factory it costs $475 Canadian so about $350 US; so I went back yesterday to my salesman and asked him to add that to my order (as well as sport chrono) as I knew I would have to bend over if I wanted it retrofitted

    You MEAN 2 hours to install THE SHORT SHIFTER I suppose !!??
    The Chrome Tailpipe takes about 5 to 10 minutes (MAX) to be installed, and costs WAY less than 560 $ (approx the price of the Short Shifter through Tequipment), I paid 300 EURO - Install for free at my Porsche Dealer.
    They charge 130 $/Hour at your Porsche Dealer !!!!!

    There's no way you should be paying that much for the chrome exhaust tip.
